I am disappointed in one of our own members for his neglegent decision to fly over freeways.

Blue Collar, A few of us in here have been flying manned aviation for a VERY long time. No accidents. Personally, I've been directly involved with high level unmanned aviation for 11 years. Many accidents. I've been involved with high level R&D for a couple years, and some of those are...

    Props

Something to consider, shop for previously sold props. There's a lot of people that bought equipment they've never used after finding out what it costs to build a good machine. There's also a lot of people that became discouraged after their first crash that are selling off the equipment that...

Until reliability or a means to maintain control if power fails, yes, the safety factor just isn't there. Those two items are the primary weaknesses that limit our functionality.

    Props

The super cheap Foxtech props turned out to be pretty bad. Every one had deep gouges on the back from a lame factory attempt at balancing. Really flexible as well. There was an amazing performance improvement after up grading to T-Motor props having the same basic blade design. S spending...

Yes, they are worth the difference. You'll find that out quickly if you run both for comparison.

    Drones for Delivering Packages....

This happens all the time in the defense industry. The marketing people converse with the customers and hear the customers say they want this or that. The marketing people, having no real clue about the products they are selling, tell the customer "we can do that" and write a contract. About...

FAA sUAS Registration Task Force Recommendations Released

It's called "social engineering". Our government has been using the elementary schools to this end for a long time now.

    Foxtech retracts (help!)

The solution is the much less expensive and very reliable Tarot retracts if you don't make your own. A single leg hang up is a great reason to keep fixed gear if you use a gimbal.

    A Homer Simpson Moment

I presume you found out the same way I did. My only excuse was I was still in grade school. My judgement error tossed me 10' across the room...

    Drones for Delivering Packages....

Look how much money those announcements have saved on the advertising budget. Every one of those press releases must be worth at least $10 million in free brand name advertising using every media outlet normally paid for the purpose.

It cannot be otherwise. So many possible directions and power shifts are possible it's mind boggling. Incrementalism in action.

    A Homer Simpson Moment

Carbon is a very good conductor. A word of caution, never, ever stick a wooden pencil with a graphite center into the arc of a Jacob's Ladder. You'll only do that once...

    Blade Chroma with CGO3 4k

Thank you. I'll be flying it in the next couple of days. Have rain coming in tomorrow and have been playing nursemaid for a convalescing wife for the past week and a half. The latter has prevented getting the flying side going any sooner. In the mean time I'm trying to provide a sense of...

    Blade Chroma with CGO3 4k

The Controls If there's one place with the Chroma that definitely hits the mark, it's at the ST-10 transmitter. When we consider the market this unit is targeting it would be difficult to have done better. Any attempts to improve on this entry level product would have over complicated the Tx...

FAA sUAS Registration Task Force Recommendations Released

Does anyone really think registration in and of itself would do anything to track user violators of airspace laws? Single user registration for multiple aircraft smacks of DHS user database development, not aviation safety. I don't see registration as a bad thing, but I do have serious issues...

NASA Takes First Steps Toward Drone Traffic Control

Crows Landing used to be a stellar large scale RC field. There was a clear message in that press release. I wonder how many see what's coming. Folks like Amazon and Google may not be our friends. Not if they will need clear airspace to make their deliveries in, and they will.

    Blade Chroma with CGO3 4k

Back on topic. Getting to this point presumes the user has read the instructions, visited Horizon's Know Chroma website, and taken the time to review one or more videos there about the Chroma. Hopefully they will have charged the batteries for both the transmitter and receiver (completely...
