FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

The registration website won't be active until the 21st so the new forms may not be complete yet. Lets hope it won't follow the same format as used with full scale stuff. In those you have to go through ownership and potential previous foreign ownership. You can view those at the aircraft...

    3hour flight time, a fuel-electric hybrid multirotor!

I've actually done most of what's been discussed so far. Gas 2 strokes can be run effectively on heavy fuels but the BSFC does not increase by much. Forget about a glow conversion to diesel, the formula for the fuel used has to be hand mixed and it's not even close to fiscally viable. The...

That straw is not likely to be found. Think about the frog in a pot of cool water on the stove as the heat is turned on only slightly. Because of the slow, incremental increase the frog doesn't noticed he's being cooked alive until it's too late. That's what's happening here at home...

The Great Seal of the United States has an example of that quote with the eagle holding a number of arrows in one claw, signifying that a group together is stronger than one.

Pretty much, but where's the law that states a person has to have a credit card before they are considered a real person to the government? The requirement of a Social Security number pretty much handles that. Parts of this law stink to high heaven. Perhaps the card and the SS number info are...

Arm length or FC for wind

Both are equally important. With the wrong FC it won't be stable at any size. I have a 545mm X8 that's flat rock solid but the FC has as much, or more, to do with that as the motor layout.

Exactly, there's no whining in the morning about still respecting or questions about love. "Waaay off topic, but I was given a gift certificate to Donna's Ranch in Wells, Nevada a looong time ago. No joke, it really happened. Made me think about just how much that stuff actually costs, both...

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

The U.S. imprisons more people per capita than any other country in the world. Perhaps they DO like putting people in prison. It's a great way to keep tax rates up and employ a lot of people on government payrolls. What makes no sense at all is charging someone $5.00 just to give it back to...

They work but the workmanship can get dicey, even with their UAV product line up. They also have to be pretty large to obtain enough useful wattage, meaning the engine size needs to be above ~35cc too. In glow 2stroke engines the fuel penalty for that large of an engine prohibits their use.

Trappy won his case at several levels. What he paid the FAA was more like how one deals with a hooker, he paid them to go away.

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

Such actions are assured. Since there is currently no way to track a "drone" in flight it only makes sense that registration is the first step in mandating the incorporation of flight tracking systems on our aircraft. It will grow exponentially from there. It gets even more interesting when...

In response, the following from the FAA site: "Q. What is the definition of a UAS? Is it different from a drone? A. A UAS is an unmanned aircraft system. A drone and a UAS are the same for registration purposes. Q: Does the FAA have the authority to require registration of UAS used by...

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

JFRO, The FAA is the organization that currently makes and enforces all the blanket flight and airspace regulations. Cities make additional regs that cover some low level operations relative to noise and safety but a lot of those get overturned by the FAA. Cities encroaching on small airports...

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

Not odd really. If you are legally operating commercially you have a 333 waiver. If you have the waiver you know one of the standard waiver requirements is to register each of your aircraft before they are operated commercially. If you are legally flying something commercially it has already...

Not a Stingray, but otherwise yes. It's past the general design and R&D stage last I heard. I was doing some work on my own in this area but ran out of money.
