The X8 works great with the SuperX with the current firmware. The XY8 with wider front arms is what is not working well right now. If you have a straight up X8 you will have no problems.

For larger and powerful rigs, I recommend .9 on the yaw and throttle and 1.2 on the roll and tilt. It is a good starting point and with the gain knob will usually get you pretty close.

The SuperX is not available without a GPS and it will work just fine launching off of a boat. Motors can be armed at any time. It will work fine without the GPS enabled, but if you want to use it with the GPS on flying in ATT mode does not use the GPS or Compass, just auto level compensation.

Fair enough. The nice thing about the SuperX is that when it does not have a GPS lock it reverts to ATT mode instead of trying to stay in GPS so you should not have any issues with fly aways. The other nice thing is that you can turn the RTH off and on with the safe mode switch at any time so...
