    Zenmuse GH3 Roll Level Issue

Zen-GH3 Roll axis is easy-peasy to correct. Loosen the two hex screws on the rear roll motor shaft clamp and rotate the Roll/Tilt tray in the required direction. Do it with the Zen unpowered in very, very, VERY small steps. Use a fine tipped marker to make a small reference mark on the roll...

Commercial flights deemed legal... Trappy won!

They may well be but they didn't ask me if they could use my photos of my helicopter and my AD-8 from my website. If they want to offer me free, all-inclusive, worldwide insurance cover for two years I'll think about it.

    superman with a go-pro

Well that was a lot of fun. Can't help being reminded though of the 120mph biker who posted his exploits and then got busted.

Very super. But I wonder if you understand the forum concept of threads and relevancy to those threads? Aside from your post being in the wrong place, your 'perfect case' offers no shock protection whatsoever to the 550 inside, being crushed up against the inside walls with no foam padding at...

    DJI A2 Official Users' Thread

Adjusting the physical Roll Axis centre is a breeze - easier than the later releases of the Z15-G, which have indents on the Roll motor shaft for the set screws that are themselves inside an enclosure allowing only one to be visible at a time. With the Z-GH3 you loosen the two bolts on the clamp...

    DJI A2 Official Users' Thread

The Z15-GH3 Roll axis had a 2° lean to the right when powered up or centered. As I had another complete A2 sitting here, that had been sent because of the motor spasms, and only the Main Control box had been used, I tried swapping the IMU as well and the horizon issue was significantly...

Lowering the camera plate will help a lot but that is not so straight forward with the CS design whereby u/c legs are incorporated into the camera mount. Personally I prefer to keep the camera mount and under carriage separate. I tried the AV200 360, which is similar in concept, and did not like...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Skyjib Ti 8 or x4

In the valid interests of obtaining real-life data on this subject I will be happy to accept a donation of around $20,000 to build a no-frills SkyJib 8 and a no-frills SkyJib X4 (X8 damn you Droidworx!) with identical components and fly them both around with an ever increasing load of water...

So far I get the same. With all of the negative stuff flying around about 'drones' one could expect a degree of hostility but everywhere I go people are fascinated. Of course it is a bit different with the 2.5m SR twin-cylinder, petrol-powered heli. They are still curious but not quite so keen...

Quite so. BTW, I would never presume to make sense, let alone excel, at anything to do with maths (short for mathematics!).

Well, not really, although I should have written 74%. It was just to make the point that the way it was worded suggested a co-ax arrangement is really inefficient. If a flat 4 has 50% of the power of a flat 8 and a coax 8 is 6% more efficient than a flat 4: 4 x 6% = 24; 50 + 24 = 74%. Of...

Well done. That would be tricky, piloting from the side and keeping reasonably low over the jumps. Were you filming that solo?

It sounds good on the face of it but I am not exactly sure whether the whole argument holds up, because it seems to suggest that 4 pairs of contra-rotating props on four booms is anything up to 94% less efficient than a flat 8. But it would be interesting to know the real physics of it all, just...

DJI S1000 Owners Thread - Mini Build Log

Certainly is an innovative device, but I can see we are going to have to shell out for v.2 GCU's for the Zenmuse which will offer an HDMI thru-port in order to keep wiring tidy. A large degree of care will be required to keep all those mini jack connectors from the Trainer Port tidy. Wouldn't...

    DJI A2 Official Users' Thread

Well I flew the A2 with the EVO yesterday (this is on the equator) and it did everything right. But this was after replacing both the A2's Main Control box - the first one was just bad and made the clockwise motors 'spasm' - and the IMU. The first IMU seemed to have some sort of calibration...

DJI S1000 Owners Thread - Mini Build Log

What a joke! They have completely missed the point with the folding booms which are longer than the u/c legs, never mind that Fufu forgot to lock them before turning it all the right way up. DJI don't ned to lose much sleep over that rival.
