    Wookong M waypoint

I have it but haven't gotten to use it yet. New Years day was to be the first flight via Click and Go waypoint, unfortunately the day ended in wobble and crash rather than click and go! Now that the CS6 is back in the air I'll be giving it another go at the first opportunity, hopefully this...

    DJI with FPV

Yes, they made the change in the firmware to allow that quite a while ago, only thing is you get the recording icon plus timer showing in the video out but I actually like having the timer there at least so not a problem for me. I keep the camera angled down a bit so the changes in lighting...

    DJI with FPV

I'm not using it on the WKM (yet), my primary FPV mutli is an MK Hexa V1. I did try it on the F450 and got a bucket load of RFI over the link so I didn't even try to fly it that way. I do have another TX with FPV cam that I'm going to put on the CineStar 6 so I can see what the NEX 5N is seeing...

    DJI with FPV

I've been using my GoPro with the Sunex lens for FPV so it doesn't really look much different from the goggles than it does with the small FPV cam. Since I'm flying around with built in autolevel and using GPS position hold to stop and look around I wouldn't know how to tell if there's a delay...

    Thrashing the Naza F450

I just ordered some 8 x 5 and 9 x 5 Graupners to use on the F450 since it seems to be overpropped with the 10 inch Graupner and it vibrates way too much with the props that came in the kit. I think the 8 inch might be just what the 450 needs to wake it up a bit, I'll find out as soon as they...

    DJI with FPV

I use the GoPro as FPV cam on my MK Hexa, works just as well as a dedicated cam plus I can see the video timer from the GoPro so I know how long I've been in the air and approximately how much battery life I have. Not nearly as good as a full OSD setup but it's simple and cheap, two things you...

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

While I'm on the subject, I did a couple test flights os teh CS6 today and there is indeed a BIG difference in how it flys with the Maytech vs the other ESCs I was using. It IS a lot more stable and I was able to successfully lower the gain to as low as 260 and still have it fly well. I...

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

What I didn't see in the specs was the ability to change from 8 kHz to 16 kHz switching rate, to me that's one of the key features for large outrunner motors. I hope they didn't remove that, if they did I need to stock up on V1 Maytechs now before they're all gone! Ken

Horizon Hobby is hitting the multi market!

It also has brushed motors. If you've ever had experience with any of the small Walkera helis with the brushed motors, like the 4#3B, you know that they tend to wear out quickly with a lot of use. I give it about a month before someone comes up with a setup to go brushless on it. Still, I think...

    Thrashing the Naza F450

Motors and ESCs from Montorc.com and the Graupners I get from Electricwingman in the UK http://www.electricwingman.com/propellers/graupner/elektro-prop.aspx Ken

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

Minsoo doesn't spec the board unfortunately but there's a hefty strip of copper under the epoxy so I'd guess it can handle anything I'm likely to put through it, especially considering the other PDB I had was much smaller with thinner traces for the power connections. I wouldn't try running more...

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

So far they seem to fly as nice and smooth as the reflashed versions I had on there but the throttle is a lot more linear with the Maytechs and overall it seems a lot steadier with this setup. I think these come with the settings and features they're trying to get by doing the firmware update on...

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

One of these slightly modified and mounted upside down so the ESC power wires connect directly to the board with as little wire as possible. http://www.kkmulticopter.kr/index.html?modea=vieweng&mc_selected=MultiCopter&sc_selected=Center&sn=power_board_octo&id_no=120 I did the same setup on my...

Gaui 330xs parts into 500x frame?

I haven't yet, mainly because the original Gaui motors I have wouldn't work very well on the larger frame, they're barely adequate for the 330. If you have the Scorpion motors it would probably work much better but the weak link is still the GU 344 controller. I generally like the smaller...

Mikrokopter Mk nc sd - ok?

Droider did have a problem that he was able to trace back to a particular brand of card he had in the SD slot, I haven't really heard much about anyone else running into the same problem. Weird behavior with MK electronics is not by any means limited to odd SD cards in the Navi board, I've had...

    Wookong compatible ESCs

I got the CineStar back in the air tonight with the Maytechs, WOW! Absolutely the best setup I've flown with the WKM controller so far, smooth, quiet and steady. I've used DYS, Turnigy Plush, and Exceed Proton ESCs with WKM and the only setup that comes close to the Maytechs is the DYS with...

    Advantages of multiple batteries debate

On my CineStar 6 I use a single 4S 8000 pack, good for around 10 minutes flight time hauling an AV 130 with Sony Nex 5N on it. On my Droidworx AD6 I use a pair of 4S 5000 packs in parallel, one mounted in front of its AV130 and the other behind to even out the load and get a perfect CoG...

    CineStar 6 + WKM + Maytech = WOW!

Today I finished the process of swapping out the DYS ESCs on the CineStar 6 for a set of Maytechs and a new power distribution board. After a quick realignment of the motors by eye (the crash having rotated most of them off vertical) and installation of the Graupner 11 x 5 props I first flew it...

    Thrashing the Naza F450

It was a balmy 60 degrees here in New England yesterday, shirt sleeve weather in January! I took the oportunity to get out to the flying field to do a few test flights of the newly WKM converted Droidworx AD6 and also brought along 4 of my little quads to play around with. Nothing crashed and...

    Wookong compatible ESCs

I'll let you know how the Maytechs work in a day or two, as soon as I get a chance to install the set that just arrived in my CineStar 6. From what I've seen so far a large part of the "what the hell happened" problems are pilot error or build error. I've been flying a WKM since the first 20...
