    Camera Stabilization.

Yes, MikroKopter can do it a couple of different ways. One is done through software and they call it point of interest. Designating the spot as a GPS coordinate and setting up other parameters similar to waypoint flight will keep the camera orientation fixed on that spot as the MK flys. The...

Naza and Flame Wheel for FPV

Let us know how it goes once you have it all together. I tried using mine for FPV but the RFI the video TX was picking up made it unusable, too much interference in the signal. Might just be the really cheap video TX setup I have but the WKM is known to be very bad for RFI emissions, chances are...

Another Video need some advice on how best to set the gain

I just took my AD6 out for its first test flight with the new ESCs. Initially I was using the same settings I started with before with the other set of ESCs, turns out with all the motors running at the same speed it looked awfully rubbery in a hover. Came back in the house and bumped the basic...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

Considering I had several hours of successful flight before reflashing the ESCs and maybe 1 hour afterward and before the crash it is a definite possibility. When I reflashed a brand new set of the same ESCs to use on my Droidworx AD6 I wound up with 6 useless ESCs. They all worked but no way...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

With absolute certainty, no, I can't. However the flip wasn't really that violent, it appears that way from the camera point of view because for a good portion of the initial movement it was being compensated for by the camera mount, it was only when the platform ran out of travel that the...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

Jeff, thanks very much for the offer, had I seen it a bit earlier I would have been on it. As is, I just received the tracking number for the parts shipment from Photohigher, I'll have parts in hand Thursday morning. If only I could get the NEX 5N repaired that quickly... Now to go clean out...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

And the answer is... I just got the CS on the bench for a little diagnostic session and for once there's a concrete, indisputable cause for Sundays aerobatic attempt by a non aerobatic hex. Took the props off, connected a battery, gave the motor start command, 5 motors spin... Hmmmm.... Took...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

I've already got the quote from Photohigher for the parts to repair the AV 130, I wasn't expecting to see anything until tomorrow morning my time at the earliest due to the day/time difference, great service! As someone else noted the shipping is the killer ordering parts from N.Z., about 2/3...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

Yes. well aware of the gear size difference, I have one of each type on hand. I have yet to put the roll cradles side by side, there may be differences there as well. I managed to get the bent cradle as straight as possible and back into the top framework, not even close to as smooth as it...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

They do sell parts, I've bought some from them for my older AV 130. Worst case I'll take the Savox servos from the bent mount and put them in the older 130, there are differences but I have a mill and lathe in the garage if I need to make them fit in the older frame. What I may do is just take...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

I have a suspicion I know what happened but I doubt that I will ever be able to confirm it one way or another. I haven't yet powered it up again since the crash and I don't want to speculate about anything until I at least do that. This AV has already been straightened once from a not quite so...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

I flipped the switch to failsafe for RTH but all it did was rise to 20 meters and start circling. I flipped to manual to get TX control back, went to ATTI mode and flew it back manually, just as I was coming down about 10 feet out from the takeoff point this is what happened. Not a low power...

Not off to a good start in the new year...

Besides dunking one of my aerobatic quads in the stream that runs throught the flying field on Sunday, I'll let the pictures of the other event do the talking... Ken

    Mikrokopter Hexa question

The short answer is no, if you're really lucky the best you can hope for is a semi controlled crash as the hex yaws uncontrollably. Most likely it will just flip and fall to the ground, had that experience last weekend when a motor stopped spinning about 10 feet up while descending. Ken

Gaui 500 set up for AP/FPV

I have a Gaui 330X in my fleet. If you moved all the Gaui bits over to the 500X frame I think part of the problem is the Gaui electronics aren't strong enough to carry a 5N. I tried flying my 5N under my MK Hexa V1 with the hisight mount and the results were poor, it's more weight than the...

    building hexacopter with DJI WKM

Droidworx AD6 would be a good place to start, it can handle just about any combination of motors and ESCs you would want to use. Ken

Another Video need some advice on how best to set the gain

The little bit of test flying I've done with my AD6 H/L show the gains need to be in the 200 to 250% range for it to fly well. Haven't yet been able to get a good long test flight as it smoked an ESC on landing and I'm waiting for replacement to arrive. Also, what are you using for props? I've...

DJI Naza as APV flight controller

Within the price range I have to say I have not flown anything else that works better than the Naza controller. For a version 1 product it works amazingly well, autolevel and altitude hold are very similar to the WKM controller and far better than a lot of more expensive controllers on the...

MultiWii / NAZE / SP Racing F3 which MultiWii boards do you own?

I've got a Quadrino Advanced board that currently has no home. I've had it on a VIC 20 Gaui replacement frame and an MK quad frame that is now Naza powered. I was thinking of maybe using it in the Dex I have sitting on the shelf waiting for me to find time to build it or maybe recommissioning...

    WKM Gimbal help

Yes, if you connect a channel from the RX to X3 it will control the angle of the camera platform tilt, then assign that channel to a knob or slider. You could even use a switch if all you need is one or two fixed angle changes. Ken
