That is my understanding. Borrow someone's Dx7 or above and bind to do the calibration then go back to your Dx6.

You have to switch through all three modes; Manual, ATTI, and GPS, 10 times. You need a three position switch to do the calibration. When you arm the motors it is normal to have the motors spool up.

Topper, Yes the compass will try to hold heading but it can only do so much. It is more an accelerometer function trying to keep the craft level. It will yaw because the CCW or CW rotors are out numbered.

I would go with the 450. It will give you more versatility. You can use 8 or 10" props, 3 or 4S lipos. You have more real estate to position your components. The F550 has two more motors, props etc, that can get damaged and you really don't need the extra lifting capacity for your gear. I...
