So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

Dimtri I guess you were one of the helpers on the endurance record. So tell us. Are those batteries Lipos?

    And now for something new

    I really like this idea.

    I got bit, badly...

Sorry to hear this Ken I hope it heals up soon. I have often seen the heli guys pick up their models and while walking back from the flight line the throttle accidentally gets opened up. That should never happen as they all have a hold switch on the throttle to disarm it. But it does happen and...

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

I think you should add (nose-in circle mode) accuracy to that, as it is about the only useful thing that these autonomous modes offer. Autoquad and Y6 do a good job.

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

Just watched the 141 mins flight and he did something clever. He dropped a couple of batteries during the flight. Even so great achievement. Asta Vista Babe.

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

Bowley I waited and waited for skookum to come good. And I am so pleased they did not rush it out. I am now not too sure that I need anything more than V-Stabi. It has been around and stood the test of time. Naza-H does what it says on the box so no complaints. When we all prefer to fly helis in...

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

I just noticed a new vid. on his site. How about a flight duration of 141 mins. This guys knows something we don't!!!

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

I forgot to mention Y6, thats a good one for sure. For SR's I have been using Naza-H so that I could recruit some pilots who don't have too much 3D experience. Ha, nobody wants to use anything other than manual. I guess we should have stuck with V-Stabi.

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

Both but I don't have a astacopter. But I know somebody who does and he has MK and DJI and reckons it is light years ahead. The videos on the web site show that to my satisfaction at least... I love the cat. Getting your hands on one may prove difficult...

So who does make the best Multirotor controller.

Well that is an interesting question, and one that will no doubt stir up a few comments. IMHO it would not be Hoverfly, AMP, MK or even DJI. I would have said that based on what I have seen it would be Autoquad-6 but then I found this at astacopter.ru Yep, these Russian guys are definitely...

motor burn out on shut down - wondering if any one has had this happen

It's definitely in the ESC as one of the phases has been energize at the wrong moment in time. The cogging effect wont tell you anything as it is a function of the magnets and the poles, it would do that even if there were no windings. If motors overheat then some of the magnetic field can get...

New DJI Balance Rings - for Jello-Free video..

The concept is not new, You can find it on the front of some old V8 engines as a front end dampener. It offsets the hub as a means to move the center of mass to the best position.

    DJI S800 prop pitch

I am afraid that this theory is totally wrong. What is wrong is that when you are in the descent a MR reduces rpm in order to reduce lift and as that scenario increases in magnitude you eventually reach a point where a partial or even a complete stall of the blade occurs. (Blade stall, like a...

    DJI S800 prop pitch

The 14x8 graupners were very quickly out performed by both the Xoars and the Gemfans, for windy conditions I always used the 14x4.7 APC's with blunted tips for safety. Slightly less endurance but improved stability due to pitch angle, blade area and rpm. The most important consideration when...

    DJI S800 prop pitch

It is true that you need more speed and more blade area. But not more pitch. To draw a comparison, if you reduce the head speed of a SR heli then the stability will drop off and you will see the characteristic wobble in the descent that is apparent in MR's (because lift is proportional to RPM...

Pilot reports mystery black ‘drone’ at JFK

I think Henseliet has gone 265 kph with a SR heli. but the most dangerous aspect of FPV is the high number of flights that have covered more than 40Km and have climbed to 5,500 plus meters. From that height they can almost glide home. So the height, goes with the distance, if you are trying to...

    Come on now DJI.

I don't normally have too many complaints about DJI but I was highly pissed off when the HDMI converter on my Zenmuse croaked in the middle of a big pro shoot yesterday. I contacted DJI Europe to find out where to send the unit for service and they said Only got the keys to the office last week...

    My brushless gimbal result

Just to see what else may be required to get a brushless working properly, the wires from your camera may need to run through a hollow shaft motor OR one of these. This is the wiper track from a Zenmuse

    My brushless gimbal result

Stacky, think about it. The camera does not move, everything around it moves. The motors are just reeling in the slack so to speak. Only when you add stick input do they feel the weight of the camera.
