Hoverfly Camera Servos with Hoverfly Pro

...so I checked the ship is pretty much perfectly balanced. The camera is perfectly balanced - the hole for the screw lines up with the cg point and I use that hole to screw into the middle of the gimbal platform and when I do a finger balancing test with the entire ship it seems perfectly...

Hoverfly Intro to Spektrum and HoverflyPro Setup

Bart, as Macsgrafs indicates it seems that the answer is yes, I just verified that by going into the Channel assignments, I can assign any switch to any channel. There are also switches on the sticks as well, one in front and one on the top of each stick - those could be setup for autotrim but...

Hoverfly Camera Servos with Hoverfly Pro

The last time I check the balance (between the camera, gimbal and ship) it was close - may not be perfect but close. That is something I could revisit. ...so are you suggesting if it was out of balance that it may have stressed the servo and caused it go bad?

Hoverfly Intro to Spektrum and HoverflyPro Setup

I was asked to provide a tutorial on my Spektrum setup for the Hoverfly Pro. Here it is - it doesn't cover everything but if folks have further questions I could extend the tutorial. It shows how I mapped the switches to various channels as well as the mixing and expo settings.

Hoverfly Camera Servos with Hoverfly Pro

Here is the servo for the roll we are currently using: http://www.servocity.com/html/hs-7985mg_servo.html Yes, I agree probably not the best gimbal for video - we upgraded to the gear drive tilt option (using the servo for tilt that came with that option) and 2nd roll servo arm and we have...

Hoverfly Camera Servos with Hoverfly Pro

I have also heard people using Savox servos - what would folks recommend with a setup like the MKTR Pro with a Canon T2i or Caonon Vixia G10?

    Hoverfly HFPro, Failsafe?

I had the problems you described in previous versions but I tried it the other day with 4.6 and finally got AH working and it held quite nicely. I have AH gain on a dial on my Spektrum 10t and just played with that till it was dialled in.

Hoverfly Camera Servos with Hoverfly Pro

I took my Hoverfly Pro setup out for a bit of test with my Canon Vixia G10 on a MKTR Pro Gimbal and the footage was really jerky. It was not the jello you get from motor vibrations - I have two levels of vibration dampening between the frame and the gimbal (one level of sorbothane). I have...

    Initial Flight Test Challenges

Often if everything is setup right with the props turning the right way etc., the one element missing is a vigorous take off. If you are tentative with your take off and it isn't tuned perfectly it may very well flip, so give it some throttle and get it into the air so you can make fine...

A fresh overview and Depth Walkthrough of WKM

Good Stuff. The quality of the video is great. It sounds like there are other videos that aren't listed here. One suggestion: - the mounting screen with the numbers needs more clarification. I find that diagram and onscreen explanation extremely vague and confusing - wether to use positive...

    The plan so far.

I had just composed a lengthy reply but hit reply rather than Post and lost all the information: A lot of variables to consider when you go to do this: Here is the essense of what I wrote: Your camera weighs about 600g (I wouldn't recommend building your own gimbal at this point): A gimbal...

Hoverfly Flying In Cold Weather -12C- Video

I have thought about battery jackets but didn't know if it would make a difference - good to know. I will have to try that (use layers wool on the inside gortex on the out ;) I have a cooler that has a switch to act as a heater and I can plug it into the car - I will have to try that. Thanks...

    Futaba Spektrum or Turnigy

Been using DX10t with lawmate 1.2 video tx rx and don't seem to have a problem. I really like the tray and all the switches and sliders for doing AP work. Unless you you use an S-bus adapter though you lose camera gimal control from the WK-M if you go with an octo configuration. Otherwise...

    The plan so far.

Ah, so first serious multirotor The first question or information that you need is what are you going to lift? In other words what is the weight and size of the camera you want to lift? You build your ship around that. Do you want professional/paraprofessional quality or amateur quality...

Hoverfly Flying In Cold Weather -12C- Video

I tried in -10C and my batteries acted like those were nearly dead - I need to do more testing but those didn't like the cold at all - the electronics seems to be fine with it. Do you do anything to keep your batteries from getting cold? Like a battery jacket of something?

I've Had It With DJI ESC's.....advice?

hmmm came across this - no soldering involved perhaps flashing those ESCs might be doable after all. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27195__Atmel_Atmega_Socket_Firmware_Flashing_Tool.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7PfHRGb7F8&feature=player_embedded Oh it sounds like you...
