I no-load tested 4 RCTimer 2830/14 motors that are going on my CC quad.
I plugged an amp meter between the battery and the spider harness. Then used the motor test function with the ControlCopter board to run each motor to max throttle without props.
Below are the amps pulled less the .21amp...
I have an old style KapteinKuK board from Jakub in great condition. It doesn't have much time on it as I quickly went to multiwii and now the CopterControl board.
It's not a CC board but good for a simple bird and it's cheap.
They only make two frequencies to my knowledge- 900 and 2400mhz. You need to find which one is legal in your Country. I'm not so sure that both are illegal.
I just received 7 of those in the mail. The windings were of the quality I expected - passable but not pretty. They did check out fine on the o-scope and meter. The motor wire extensions are all cold joints. I had to redo them all. They are terminated outside the motor so that is easy enough to do.
I'm not sure why the forum mangled the URLs but they aren't working for me.
Sometimes I will charge off of a deep cycle car battery but I only get 2 or 3 charges or so on my big LIPOs before voltage drops to low levels. (Maybe that's to be expected from a 9 year old battery) :)
My plan one day...
I am no expert in LIPO charging. They do sell chargers that take AC current. I don't own one yet though.
At home I charge the batteries with a 12V charger when they are in a lipo sack with a lab power supply at 2amps. It's slow and painful and I don't like how hot the power supply gets. Clearly...
That's what I'm thinking. I just can't see it happening. A new guy wants to plug it in and have it found. He isn't going to first wire up an Xbee or PIP and hope for the best. I left out auto-connect for a reason. Later on if you have telemetry hard wired there could be two connections if you...
GCS observations/minor gripes:
On the GCS it should default to USB:Copter Control for the first connection. Will a newbie use com 1 on their first start? I doubt it but maybe I'm missing something. If the port is later changed, save the last port used. Also communication drop down needs to be...
There was a car fire on the road today. I wonder if he had LIPOs charging on the passenger seat. ;)
I would not use the 12V plug to charge LIPOs. One burnt wire in a car wiring harness is a real PITA to fix. My fuse is 15A but it can blow running a laptop. You may be able to get by with a low...
I want a frame that I don't think exists yet. Maybe there's a reason for that?
Here's what I'm thinking let's hear your ideas:
It will be for a basic FPV/camera platform with vibration isolation. It won't be a pro mount so maybe design it for a GoPro and small FPV cameras.
Basically...
Cool, tonight I was thinking about an air frame. I'll start a new thread next week when I get back from holiday. The first plan has the camera, batteries, and sensor boards on a plate that's rubber mounted to the prop frame.
