What does one prefer? WK-M or NAZA+GPS?

I would have purchased the Naza with GPS upgrade if I knew that it would be out a few months later. I don't plan on using waypoints etc in the future. It's just more weight and having to lug a laptop around to program a waypoint is just no fun. I like having the controls readily accessible...

Unexplainable NAZA GPS Wreck - Quad fell from the sky but not like a brick

Unexplainable drops are the biggest fear. A somewhat controlled descent if definitely preferred.

Unexplainable NAZA GPS Wreck - Quad fell from the sky but not like a brick

I never heard of a Gopro causing interferrence. I fly with my WKM and have the Gopro attached to the underside of my F450. I would look at the positioning of the antennas, especially FPV video transmitters. I keep my receiver opposite (as far as I can) away from the video transmitter.

    DJI WKM Firmware 5.12 Update

Man... I would have had a heart attack if I saw my craft doing that on failsafe. After my Hexa crashed from a prop breaking, I'm nervous as $%&^ when I see my craft behaving badly. It's bad that it's happening on a Quad. I haven't upgraded to 5.12 yet. I'm on 5.10 I think. I have it on a...

    [Video] DJI 550 Underwater footage!!

Was he flying a Naza or WKM? If so he should have let go of the sticks. "Use the force Luke. Let go." Nice footage though. It looked more like he lost control of the craft and was fighting to keep it level before it hit the water.

Dying the F550 Flame wheel arms

Is that the same as Hydrographics/Hydropaint? I was thinking about modding colors for a future build. Check out these Youtube videos: http://youtu.be/iP7BKHU4WUc http://youtu.be/YB9YtesgL2Y http://youtu.be/OM02sJhV_Bw I think it would add some interesting patterns/colors to the craft that...

    Kilby's F650

I like how you mounted the ESCs! It looks like a clean build. I was thinking of tucking them inside the frame and mounting/protecting the flight controller on top. I want to mount the battery on the landing skids to balance the camera. Now you have me thinking....

    Kilby's F650

My Xaircraft DIY Carbon fiber Hexa's arms flexed a little under weight. Do you think that flexable arms (limited in amout of flex at the base) would add to stability or is this a crazy idea/question? On descent I'm sure the arms of my craft flexed a little bit causing a dihedral offset. The...

    Kilby's F650

That is a nice build! I like the all black arms too. I had all black on my last Hexa. I put red LEDs on the front so I could tell which way was forward. It is hard at height with any color.

    Any experience with these Props?

I have no experience with those props, but I have had experience with Full Carbon Fiber props. In less than 5 minutes of flight time my Gemfan 10x4.5 snapped and my flat hexa was destroyed. Luckily my flight controller, receiver and four motors survived. I wanted to try something new and...

    F550 Props and props

I hear that DJI props are prone to breaking in mid flight. Ive seen video of this happening: YouTube video http://youtu.be/ifpiMJRZ7vo There have been many who have complained about this on the forum and a few that say they do not have problems with the prop. The Graupners are stiffer...

Suppliers List And The Products They Offer

I've searched the internet and I'm amazed that I haven't seen too many good/affordable multicopter frames. I've seen some great ones, but they are few. I've also seen some pretty innovative frames made of wood, or G10. I'm just surprised that there aren't more designs out there.

    I'm I a lucky one... Dji f550 wookong-m famous last words now

I will say that I am thouroughly impressed with DJI flight controller. I never had any crashes (until a carbon fiber prop broke in flight). My Hexa (now a quad) flew without me noticing any issues that caused me concern. I agree that a majority of the problems are user generated. Once you learn...

Have we come too far too fast?

I've wondered the same thing: Have we come too far? I am starting to think that simple is better. I do like DJI's GPS, Attitude, RTH and fail safe features. I also like their plug and fly system. I think they should lock down and improve what they have. MK...tried it...got lost on the...

    RTH problems

I had a similar issue while using RTH. The first time worked as advertised. I launched it and used the RTH and watched it land perfectly. The second time that I tried it there was a little wind which I think caused it to start circling to land. It was like it couldn't find it's home point...

    Need a good Y6 Frame

Thanks for the replies. I've researched and compared frames and still undecided. I did find an interesting build/mod for the DJI F550 frame: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1675974 Youtube: http://youtu.be/aobfOtA2Auo http://youtu.be/2p4Yb_zqPHs http://youtu.be/vvnbme5_R0Q...

    How to test multicopter safely?

Find an open field and reestablish trust in your craft. I purchased a set of full carbon fiber props and tested it on my Hexa. It flew fine the first day during a four minute flight (hover). The next day I took my craft up flew it for less than a minute and one of the props snapped in flight...
