Seriously my comment was not meant for you or any of the users, more a comment on the evolving nature of support. Users also tend to beat each other up while the developer stays out of it. I'm sure its difficult balancing technical support issues and the many non-issues on forums. The...

    XAircraft SuperX

I know. I think a lot of developers, especially DJI tend to rely on the forums to do their technical support. Its a great resource for users but it shouldn't replace their support. A friend of mine needed some help shooting some aerial footage for a Superbowl commercial, actually he figured...

    XAircraft SuperX

I have grown to hate PC's, they've turned me into a hater... I tried IE, when I hit upgrade in the SuperX GUI it launched EI to the right site but the grey fields for the firmware and software just said waiting and never downloaded anything. So after a while I figured I'd check the site to see...

Thanks for the quick response everyone. I remember reading about the Firefox issue but couldn't find it. This was discussed here and at RCGroups so you have to read through a ton of irrelevant posts to find what you need. So I take a little umbrage with the idea that this is well...

    XAircraft SuperX

Finally got around to setting up my SuperX, unfortunately it arrived with 1.7 firmware. I followed the instruction for upgrading the firmware but when I hit the button to upgrade in the guy a web browser comes up stating that the page no longer exists. I went to the Xaircraft website and found...

It would also be interesting to know what effect ETC has on AP beyond changing the focal length. I would imagine that condensing the pixels on the sensor the way it does would also increase the possibility of getting jello. Anyone tried this with AP?

    Sony NEX-7 + GoPro Gimbal

Sure, I use a zoom all the time. I just land, adjust the lens, take off and get the shot. For Ap I primarily shoot video and would never use an "on air" zoom anyway. I can see the benefit of not having to land but certainly not necessary and I have not found a gimbal that would work well with...

    Sony NEX-7 + GoPro Gimbal

I found a solution, I got a Hero3 Black... I found one left in the back of the cabinet at BestBuy and got if for $269 I think I'm going to wait for a couple more months to see what kind of progress is made with the 3-axis NEX gimbals. Of coarse now I need to find a good 3-axis GoPro gimbal...

    Sony NEX-7 + GoPro Gimbal

The Hexacrafter G2 looks like a nice gimbal, a bit pricey but if it works well that's better than spending half as much on something that doesn't work.

    Sony NEX-7 + GoPro Gimbal

I haven't been able to find a good brushless gimbal for NEX. I know its the nature of forums that people complain a lot about things they think don't work well but I haven't seen any plug-n-play, or anything close to that, good gimbals for the NEX. Something to keep in mind regarding the...

I guess I missed that. The whole debate over regulations and then policing ourselves based on that makes me nervous. God only knows what's legal and illegal here in the U.S..

Looks great. If you think you've isolated all your vibration you might want to try setting your GoPro to "medium" FOV @ 1080 to get rid of a lot of the fisheye. Nice shots.

Dave, just curious what prompted the warning? One thing that I like about MR Forums vs others is that for the most part it stays true to MR's and not as much noise creeps in about regulations and such unless that's the topic of discussion.

    GoPro Hero3+

Unfortunately we can't control the shutter speed, it would be helpful to be able to know what shutter speed it used, for the motion blur to look correct the shutter would need to be approximately 60fps. How old is your Mac? Do you encode your footage into an intermediate codec like ProRes or...

    GoPro Hero3+

Nothing really uses 2.7K but if it really is that much more resolution then it would be great for panning and scanning the 2.7K to get a good 1080P HD. Something that would hopefully have a better chance of being cut together with DSLR footage. I believe it has a "1440" mode that shoots...

    GoPro Hero3+

Thanks. This is a bummer in part because all of the new gimbals are for the Hero3, I'm quite happy with my Hero2. The thing that interest me about the Hero3 is the ability to shoot 2.7K @ 30fps or 1080P @ 48fps. My rational is to shoot 2.7K and then center cut 1080 hoping that would yield...

    GoPro Hero3+

I have a Hero2 that I use as a crashcam on cars, its been great but generally I have not thought the quality of footage from the GoPro's in general is good enough to charge money for AP so I've been using a Sony NEX5n. With the proliferation of camera gimbals for the GoPro Hero3 and the...

I really like the pronounced color correction of the cars traveling through the forest in the beginning. Lookd like you used a traveling matte, which color corrector do you use? Resolve? Just a great over all look to your reel.

I'm not sure. I have a Hero2 and have used it on that with kind of mixed results. It shoots flat which is good for better dynamic range but the chroma is so "crappy" [technical term] that you really have to add a lot of contrast and reduce saturation. I use both Apple's Color and DaVinci's...
