    XAircraft Uneven Power output

Yeah, I really don't like leaving the props on when there's power to the motors, especially when its connected to the PC. They're easy enough to remove but I hate messing with them once I have everything balanced so well. An easy solution, well from my perspective, is that the SuperX powers up...

    XAircraft Uneven Power output

Just curious, do you guys take off your props when downloading the log files from the SuperX? Also, although the SuperX software doesn't run on a Mac, I used my Mac to download the 1.8 firmware and then my PC to actually do the upgrade. Is is possible to download the log file from SuperX with...

How do you do the black box thing?

No, I've never tested it in the air. I haven't even tested the RTH yet. Like I said, I'm slow and methodical.

    XAircraft SuperX

My first SuperX video. Sorry but I start out slow and boring. I mounted a Hero3 directly to the frame to test stability and vibration. There's a tiny shutter so there's probably one prop that needs a little more balancing but overall considering this was my second flight and first video I...

Maybe only 800 meters but that's a long way out over water. Is that Lake Powell? Nice flying.

XAircraft My Xaircraft SuperX Experience and Observations

My did the same thing just after setup but I hadn't calibrated the compass yet so I ignored it. Its almost as though it had lost the signal from the Rx but there was nothing obvious that I could see would cause it and I had a green light on the Rx the whole time. Another issue I'm having is...

XAircraft My Xaircraft SuperX Experience and Observations

So every time you went outside you had double flashing red indicating it was in failsafe, correct? I know you would have tried this but you know how it is sometimes someone has to point to the obvious and hopefully its just a simple thing. Did you check your failsafe switch and switch between...

Nicely done. You are a brave pilot, that was quite a ways out over the water.. Is that Lake Powell? What camera? You are flying FPV right? That had a nice look to it.

    Lightweight Quick Release plate?

That is very cool for removing the camera from the gimbal. Do you know of an equally cool release plate that removes the entire gimbal to easily go from MR to hand held?

Blackmagic Pocket cinema camera in the air

Thanks Quinton, that's 20 minutes of my life I won't get back. You were right, once you start you won't want to stop watching it. It is an interesting camera but I too think I'll wait to see what improvements are made to it and what other new camera's have to offer.

    Sony NEX-7 + GoPro Gimbal

Hi Mike, I've been using a Sony NEX5n with a brushless gimbal on a Hexacopter and get about four minutes of flight time. There seems to be a couple of good working gimbals for the Hero3, but the only gimbal I've seen that's big enough for the NEX and has usable shots longer than five seconds...

What software do people use for editing aerial video?

I think putting this more in context of AP, its hard to beat Adobe's Creative Cloud, there are so many good tools in it to help improve your AP. I'm on a MAC and still using FCP7x, I guess if I want to stay with FCP I'll eventually have to switch to FCPX -- not looking forward to it. One thing...

    XAircraft SuperX

That's what I though, which means I'm probably underpowered. For those Avroto's the largest prop is supposed to be 12x3.8, with the 12x4.5 I flew about three minutes using 40% of a 5800mah 4S battery and everything was cold to the touch. Do you think 14x4.5 would be too much?

    XAircraft SuperX

Success! Finally completed the maiden flight. I only flew long enough to try the different flight modes. The thing fly's great. It has the responsive flight characteristics of the Open Pilot CC, and better altitude and position and hold than the DJI. And its just smooth. Why does it take...

I don't want to here that, I've heard how SimonK ESC's are supposed to fly smoother... Thanks for the info.

    XAircraft Tarot t810 Hexacopter Frame

A couple of thoughts: You could try bigger motors: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2014321#post26334515 on a quad, this should be able to lift an NEX and gimbal. I have this frame: http://www.quadframe.us/collections/quadframe/products/pro-quad-x8-frame-with-28mm-carbon-arms...

No I'm a chicken... I was all set to calibrate the compass when my wife came home and gave me some honey-do's then it was getting dark so I decided to wait. As I was going through my checklist I realized I hadn't programed my ESC's, their RCTimer 40A OPTO with SimonK firmware, I think I read...

    XAircraft SuperX

It just depends on who's saying it and the importance of the remaining 10% I'm not advocating one over the other, much like the DSLR movement in the film industry MR's would not have grown nearly as fast, if at all if it weren't for the forums. Canon probably had no idea how many people would...
