A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

The GPS v atti v manual debate always makes me chuckle. There is no 'bad' you use that which makes your life easier. I can fly in manual without any problem but I never use it. I use GPS a lot because on a windy day when the director wants you to hold a certain position (and this is most shoots...

The WooKong is dead, long live the A2

Having just seen the title of this thread I thought it slightly ironic that my A2 is being swapped out for a WKM THE A2 IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE WOOKONG!

A2 fails- back to square one

The logs seem pretty odd. It isnt showing any time it seems, so getting a proper plot of what has happened seems impossible. This is the same iOSD that was used with my original A2 which logged things perfectly. Perhaps this is one of the symptoms that this second A2 was well and truly goosed...

A2 fails- back to square one

Well, brand new A2 on today. Flights 1-6 were spot on. Flight 7 ah ah wooops! The aircraft started to do its own thing, just as others have reported. So, I switched into manual mode and was able to get control back and brought the aircraft back into land. Even in manual mode it twitched a bit...

    Multirotor Remote Landing

put on a pilot's camera that points vertically downwards. With iOSD you can have one facing forward and one facing down and then using your remote you can switch between the two.

    Secraft Landing Gear Review?

I can't speak for the Secraft legs but I have a set of DJI ones that I have modified with longer legs and they have performed flawlessly. The longer legs add stress to the servos due to the larger turning moment so in their standard guise I would say the DJIs are bullet proof- not often you hear...

DJI has released its 3-Axis stabilized handheld gimbal system--the Ronin

Holy cow. How heavy is this thing? Anyone who has used a Movi at a whopping 1.5kg (gimbal only) with a Red knows that it can be back breaking work due to the way this style of gimbal is used. With the Ronin at 4.2kg gimbal only, this thing is going to be one tough beast to use for any length of...

First Impressions of the new Gryphon Frame

And I seriously dig my Gryphon Hexa. These frames are as stunning as they look.

    Basics of UK regulations

Thanks for the pitch there Dave! Seriously though, ARPAS UK along with all the other European National Associations are having a big impact in Europe and are shaping the European legislation (as well as their own national legislation) without doubt. If we acted as individuals then we simply...

A2 fails- back to square one

Latest update. I bought my A2 from UAV Shop here in the UK as Heliguy was out of stock at the time. Alex, having seen the log, without question has replaced my whole A2 system so today I shall be swapping the whole system out and hopefully testing tonight. Stay tuned......and a huge thank you to...

Why Do So Many Post Go Un Answered Here??

Im not sure that's quite the reason but I can certainly see how for many, this looks like it might be the case. For me, Bart summed it up well in as much as at this time of year there is so much going on outside that I just don't get the time on this forum that I would like. In Jan I could...

    DJI A2 "Obnormal Compass Data"

Use the mapping button (bottom right) of your A2 assistant. Use this page along with your transmitter to make sure that the switches are moving as they should. This will help ensure that your Futaba is set correctly and that your A2 is seeing things as it should

It doesnt have FF gearing but a FF gear ring fits nicely to it and yes it does have hard stops.

    Spectrum Analysers in UK

As Ben says, go for it! It's not the walk in the park than many think and it will take hard work to make a good business out of it, but if you succeed, then the rewards are well worth it.

    micro 4/3 lenses

I have just got hold of the Voigtl 17.5 f0.95. Seems seriously nice and I love the fact that the apperture can be made smooth. Haven't had a chance to fly it properly yet though but initial ground shots on this thing looked increadible. It is heavy though so if you are using the GH4 on a...

A2 fails- back to square one

Well, here is my log (https://www.dropbox.com/s/dhwzzbavrkindp6/A2%20failure.DAT) and also, here is a video link (https://www.dropbox.com/s/8upz6obhgbszcmp/IMG_0174.MOV). Two odd things other than the lack of GPS. In the Log there appears to be a massive amount of stick movement on the aileron...

    Is this Lipo repairable?

The minute you start asking if a Lipo is repairable, then it is not. Okay, it might be to a degree but given the fire risk of these things it simply isn't worth the risk, regardless if it is a small 2s all the way up to a 16Ah 6s battery. Cost of the battery is not the consideration here in my...
