A2 fails- back to square one

Dave, iOSD is an excellent logging device. With Heliguy we have often been able to prove if a crash was pilot error or not.

A2 fails- back to square one

Yeah bummer and it just passed its flight test two days ago! Anyway, I'm off too Brussels tonight for the Euro RPAS conference at which I am presenting- I will be talking with a lot of highly influential people about this funnily enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A2 fails- back to square one

I have the iOSD on both the 550 and the Gryphon. It was the Gryphon that was loosing GPS. Ill post the videos this evening hopefully and if I have time I will get the logs posted too.

A2 fails- back to square one

Well, having been ragging a 550 around on Firmware 2.3 and not having had an issue, I have been flying my Gryphon hexa around a bit to carry on building confidence. Well, today the confidence came crashing down although at least the aircraft didn't! On powering up the A2 having had 3 successful...

    BNUC-s vs. RPQ-s?

5.8 approval has been put on hold for the moment until more is known about the robustness of the link. 2.4GHz is well known and proven but with 5.8 being a higher frequency, this means that it has a lower range and penetration. Most people using 5.8 for their video links use clover leaf antenna...

    Planning on Parallel Batteries

Flying with 2 batteries is always good due to redundancy. Weight is your key issue though so don't go too large. Doubling capacity doesn't mean double the flight time due to the extra weight of the batteries. You may, if lucky get 50% extra flight time at a guess for doubling capacity Sent...

    LiPO 6S 16000 mAh

I think the first one is different purely in terms of sticker. They were the first releases of the 16000mAh batteries and since then, GensAce has launched its Tattu range aimed specifically at MR use. At least this is how I understand it but I could well be wrong. Either way, I have one of each...

Aeronavics / Droidworx red epic with master prime lense on skyjib 8?

Just go through a very, and I mean very thorough pre-flight check list and don't fly like you stole it. Be absolutely clear what flight times you are getting on those batteries and land well within that time. Otherwise just carry on carefully as you would. On a side note, I originally had the...

    Spectrum Analysers in UK

I use a Wi-spy which has been excellent ie it is very easy to read and understand the picture of the environment that it is scanning. Droider, you are right about the ideal of having the spectrum analyzer where your aircraft is going to be and not at the ground point but my view is that if I...

DJI has released new firmware for DJI Lightbridge!

DJI use 5.8 for control on the Phantom as 2.8 is being used for the wifi video link so that iPhones/iPads can be used. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DJI has released new firmware for DJI Lightbridge!

The reason 2.4GHz normally works with so many items at once is that each item normally uses just a very small part of the spectrum and then it hops to the next very small part of the spectrum that is free but the Lightbridge doesn't leave any spare spaces! I have attached 3 pictures from my...

DJI has released new firmware for DJI Lightbridge!

For those of you who would like to operate the command link separately to the Lightbridge eg for those who don't have electrical connections between the gimbal and the FC-.......DONT DO IT!! We did a spectrum analysis of the Lightbridge yesterday and it hogs, and I mean hogs, the whole of the...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Ill try and get some video of the 550 this weekend if I get a chance- I'll rag the living heck out of it.

    A2 2.2 Upgrade Guinea Pig

Deffo worth upgradeing to 2.3 as both 2.1 and 2.2 have major flaws so I dont see you having anything to loose by going to 2.3. Definitely give me a buzz when you are in the area, beer is always a good idea (unless about to fly or drive that is!).

    A2 2.2 Upgrade Guinea Pig

Well, I have been continuing to rag my 550 around. I have been bumping it off the ground whilst in flight, conducting touch and gos with it just as a fixed wing aircraft would ie skidding the 550 along tarmac before taking off again, flying into and out of woods to test GPS/Atti automatic change...

    Gryphon Dynamics Retracts

Bother. I am really keen to get a set of these if they are any good, which I am sure they will be. Well at least Gryphon are not rushing things through for the sake of it unlike a certain other company we could all mention.....

    Folding Hexacopter Frame

Or look at the Gryphon Dynamics range for the Rolls Royce of frames. I have the Gryphon 1000 hexa and they are as good as they look.

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

Your A2 failure sounds very similar to the failures we had at the shop- I don't think this is a build or setup issue, but an issue with the A2 itself. Do you know what firmware you were using as 2.1 was the version we had these same faults on.

    BNUC-s vs. RPQ-s?

Hi Atlanticbaron, my ops manual has only ever been submitted in PDF form so I think ecopies are perfectly fine. As for the amount of info, that's a hard one to quantify as it depends on how verbose you want to be about various aspects. The CAA just need to see that you can operate the aircraft...
