    Waypoint flying in UK

This is what makes me chuckle about the NQEs. They state that you must have it in your manual but that is simply not the case. There is absolutely no mention of waypoints in the ANO nor is there in permissions thus there is nothing to be open to interpretation. Providing you keep your distances...

    Waypoint flying in UK

And that's where the NQE's don't always get it right. With that said, it is no bad thing to put it in the manual as it can help you get your thoughts and processes in order. I don't have waypoints in my manual and never have. It has always passed and I am working well within my permissions if I...

Main Power-Up from Transmitter - 200Amp rating (Jeti radio)

The Jeti system is simply the dog's danglies. I use everything there except the 200A switch as my aircraft will exceed that! Makes for a nice safe aircraft.

    Waypoint flying in UK

No it doesn't necessarily need to be in the ops manual. The CAA doesn't issue permissions based on waypoint flying so as long as you keep within 166 and 167 then you will be find ie distance, height and keeping an eye on the aircraft and not the computer screen, you are good to go.

    Waypoint flying in UK

Very simple. As long as you are keeping an eye on the aircraft for the purpose of avoiding collisions with other air users, and not your screen, then you are operating legally. Of course, as you mention you must keep within 400ft and 500m. A quick flick of the mode switch on the DJI ground...

Gryphon 1000 hex build with ecalc data

Probably right about the user error. Not trying to put you off but just trying to ensure you avoid a nasty crash. Sounds like you have it covered though.

    A2 LED Sequences

Where abouts are you flying at the moment? If I am passing I might be able to bring a spare A2 LED to try or if you are heading past Scotch Corner we can give it a try at my gaff if that would help.

    Melting deans plug - crashed!

You can get some telemetry sensors that will tell you the amps otherwise its quite hard. You could calculate the average amp draw for a flight. Take off an hover for a few minutes and then land. Note the time that the flight landed and then see how many mAh it takes to recharge the batteries...

    A2 LED Sequences

Dave, I wonder if it is worth trying another DJI A2 LED. The flashing didn't look that even there and I am pretty sure that it is telling you that you are less than 8m from home point. To confirm this, next time you fly, get in flashing as in the video and then fly away. If it stops we know that...

Gryphon 1000 hex build with ecalc data

Just a quick one about the quick release prop adapters, have you seen what DJI have done with the Inspire? I only say it because whilst they are very convenient I have heard a few stories of them coming off mid flight: sometimes its because guys have put them on the wrong way (so not surprising)...

Wanting to build a heavy lifting Hexa-copter, need help

If you dont mind me saying it sounds like you are trying to run before you walk. I would highly recommend building a small hex such as a F550 which can be done pretty cheaply using standard DJI kit. The only non cheap bit would be the flight controller for the F550 but then you could use the...

    Melting deans plug - crashed!

If you want to go down the bullet route the problem is that often they are just bare bullets which need to have heat shrink added to them to cover the terminals. This is effective but it can still leave a risk of shorting when in transit due to the nature of manual heat shrinking. I recently...

    How to power my retracts.

Do not power from RX! Get power from main power distribution board via a BEC and then use the signal wire. Gear can often draw high current, enough to cause brown out on rx and/or on FC depending on how it's wired Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    A2 LED Sequences

Im stumped then. I suspect it is telling you that you are within your 8m but it shouldn't be three flashes I wonder in @Tahoe Ed can shed any light

    MultiRotorForums.com vs Vendor Forums

Hi @Bartman, I was just wondering, how many members did MRF have in Jan 13, Jan 14 and Jan 15- just curious as MRF is probably one of the best barometers to see the growth of MRs. If you would rather not say then I clearly understand. As always, top work by you and the team and a huge thanks...

    Melting deans plug - crashed!

Well Deans plugs are only rated to about 70amps I believe although quite hard to find specifics. So I suspect the melting has been purely caused by over amping.

    X8 Wookong M gain problem

I think it is the frame that is not up to it. What frame is it and are there any specs for it? The addition of a further 4lbs / 2kgs is a 25% rise over the test weight you flew, this would easily be enough of an increase to take the frame from being suitable to unsuitable hence why it flew...

    Parallel Charging / Multiple Chargers

Here is the perfect PSU for the iChargers: http://electriflyer.co.uk/s1500-power-supply-12-24-volt-60-amp/ Im using two of these for two 406 duos and they are perfect. Noise is low, you can see what current/wattage you are pulling. More expensive that computer server PSUs but on balance I think...
