Tarot 680 pro build, surely they'll a lot of questions!

You can indeed solder the leads from the PMU to the power distribution board. Just make sure the voltage from the main batteries is within the range of the PMU's input voltage. WKM and A2 will take up to 6s so I am guessing the the Naza will be the same although not owning I can't be sure so do...

    DJI Inspire-quad vs DJI S900-hex

Bart's absolutely right, as always. The inspire is very appealing because of what it does and how it does it but you have to look at what sort of imagery you require. From this work out the camera you require and then choose an aircraft that can take the desired camera. If the camera on the...

    Product Review ** Invertix 400 3D Multirotor

One of the reasons the pilot makes it look easy is that the pilot's name is Kyle Dahl. Just happens to be one of the very best 3D heli pilots in the world.

    Zero UAV gemini problems

My Gemini was pants and Zero haven't been of any help either although at least I did get a response from them.

    Controls Setup

Keep the LED at the back. The back is the part of the aircraft that faces you most and as the LED is a key 'instrument' it makes sense to keep it at the back. The reason it is normally facing you if at the back is because it is more intuitive to keep the aircraft's rear facing you so that when...

Understanding - (QuadCopter) Inputs & Electronics

Voltage is relatively simple in principle. The batteries power the motors via the ESC (electronic speed controllers) directly. This voltage would normally be too much for the flight controller, receiver and other stuff so there are a couple of things that will bring the voltage down. Firstly...

Another CAA Conviction in the UK

No but ARPAS will be doing so soon once the new website is up and some of these vids like basic safety will be visible by all, not just members. The CAA simply doesn't have the resource to do these videos so hopefully ARPAS can help here. There are a few other ideas we are mulling through at the...

Custom Foam for UAV Cases (UK)

Hi Dave, try Jetlife based near you in Harrogate. They do CNC foam cutting and have done some boxes for me. Costs are hard to say as it depends on the complexity of what you want cut. These guys are not expensive and gave me a great service when I got my cases done. http://www.jetlifecases.com/

Tattu 16000 mAh flying time/minimum voltage

If you have telemetry on your voltage that is the best way to gauge your 'fuel level'. For a 6s pack I land at about 21.1v under load and this works well for my aircraft. If you don't then the timing method I mentioned works well. Unless you change the payload I find this pretty accurate even...

Gryphon 1000 hex build with ecalc data

I wonder how safe they will be with 17 o 18 inch props. You have a lot more momentum with those props than lets say a 15 inch prop. As the motor slows down I wonder if that momentum is enough to unwind the adaptors. These things are a great idea so I hope someone can chime in who has used these...

    How to spend $5000 wisely

The A2 flies smoother and has quite a few more features such as auto gear down in the event of a return to home. Also the A2 being the 'current' flight controller means that DJI has pretty much stopped development on the Wookong this all new stuff such as Dropsafe is designed around A2. Sent...

    How to spend $5000 wisely

WKM and A2 both work with Mac so take your choice. Six months ago I would have said the WKM was the way to go due to reliability but I think the A2 has proved to be more reliable of late. The new GPS puck will help matters with the A2 as well.

Wow, is this a sign of things to come? DJI Support??? Holy cow Batman

I have just received an email from DJI promising support for the Inspire and not just that, within an hour of emailing them! Also, they say they are evaluating the idea of rolling this out to other products. Okay, the cynics may say that they are just getting prepared to deal with all the...
