    Filming a presentation

Oh and my thoughts on these high risk missions over water etc is that the job should pay more than the cost of the equipment at risk.

Unfortunately the only way to know is to try it and find out. To my understanding WiFi interference is mainly with GPS reception so if you're not flying in auto modes you may be OK anyway.

How to start an aerial production business?

The pro companies around here in Vancouver are advertising their rates at $1500-$3000 per day. This is for higher end real estate and production video. No prosumer drones. (1\2 day rates available) For regular real estate photography (no aerial shots) of your average suburban homes agents want...

Cinematic Drone Video - shot in Alentejo, Portugal

Hi Nuno, welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing. Please stick around! We have a sticky thread at the top of this page where we post our videos so we don't clog the main discussion with all the videos. Could you (or the mods) please move this post up there :)

Fuel Cell, 2 hours, and a Go Pro

Yes generally you trace a 2D CAD drawing into a tool path software in pretty much the same way as a 3d tool path. It sounds like it would be worth a test to see if the laser can handle it. Please let us know how it goes :)

How to start an aerial production business?

Great topic. Welcome to DroneVibes Chad. There's a new professional drone section here. This might be a perfect thread for that section. I wonder if you or the mods could move it over there.. Nathan? (This seems like the type of thread we were talking about off-list where Pros could help new...

Laser WILL work but it needs to be a beefy machine (150 Watts?). Hobby lasers won't do it. And even then the edge may be a little burnt. Water jet will work but may leave small garnet particles embedded. CNC router is generally preferred though.

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

Yes the 18-105 is definitely not an aerial lens. Not only is it too heavy but you would only ever use the 18mm end of its range anyway. The 10-18 on the other hand is nice and light and is useful through its entire range. I hear you about the Adobe subscription model. Painful indeed. My...

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

I'm on PC and use Premiere Pro. It has no problems at all with the Sony files. I wonder if you just need to update your video codecs in FCP? The Sony codecs are fairly new... I know we had to update codecs to read the RAW photo files in LightRoom and Photoshop when the a6300 came out.

    Good anti-vibration camera mount

A second vote for Secraft. They are cheap and they work. As an aside, this type of damping is yet another device that Free Fly claim to have "invented"... Been around for decades as Old Man points out. (Sorry for the rant, I just came across another post of theirs making outlandish claims.)

    f550 left turn into ground

Agree with Old Man as usual. The components in the Flight Controller are very sensitive to shock as well. The Accelerometer and Gyro in particular are very sensitive. Also agree with ground testing. Tying it down to cement block or picnic table etc and running her up to flight thrust may yield...

Or: How to get engineers to work for free. I wonder who grabs the patents. Yay Airbus :/

Took apart my ebay steal the tarot T810. Check out the pics.

Oops I notice it's listed as out of stock.. but that link is the international warehouse ... they may have it in the US Warehouse though. I get mine at a local electronics shop so that may be an option as well.

14 awg should be fine. That's what I have on mine with 6s batts feeding T-Motor 3515 400kv motors. One thing I noticed is that you're using standard stranded copper wire. It's better to use Silicone wire as it handles vibration better and is flexible for the folding and unfolding...

Well I'm their Canadian dealer but that doesn't mean much. I don't get any inside information etc. ;)

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

More on Cards: Just my luck I'd found that article the day after I'd ordered 4 slower (95 mbs) cards :( But that said I have yet to have any heating issues with mine. And for aerial we don't record that long anyway... the cooling from the props etc. I've been fine with the 95 mbs so far. MAKE...

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

Overheating Hi Gary, thanks for bumping I'd forgotten to follow up on the overheating cure. Yes, you are right it is a fellow named Eric Naso who seems to have found what Sony missed. He's found that using slower SD cards the card itself heats up a lot trying to cram data in a small pipe as...
