Took apart my ebay steal the tarot T810. Check out the pics.

Manual mode is something that most folks never use. Stabilize mode (Atti in DJI lingo i think) is the most commonly used. I almost never bother tuning for manual.. It's generally for acrobatic flying where you need extreme response times. It looks like it's flying great! Congratulations!

Good luck! Yes, watch out for those props, they are killers for real.

$125 Tarot ZYX-M Flight Control - Had to try it.

Ya, for me it's APM or Pixhawk all the way. I've yet to have an issue with them in 4 years on multiple machines. Sorry for your loss!

Nice little unit. Decent price as well. I assume it connects to the camera's multi-port?

    A near disaster

I would tighten up the damping as much as humanly possible then. You'd be surprised at how rigid you can get away with. I use the damping balls type, and stuff them with foam earplugs, then run bolts through them and crank em down till they're almost solid. In your case I suspect the gimbal is...

    A near disaster

Yes that was what I was wondering.. Does it fly right without gimbal? This is classic "pendulum effect" which is exactly what the name implies. Virtually every case I have seen of this has been on X8 type machines. It may be able to be tuned out by adjusting the PIDs on your flight...

Here's what I can find related to overheating. It looks like it's more for stills shooting. However I've still not experienced any issues with mine: From the article: Now, as that clearly states, the firmware appears to only affect the still-image-related overheating issues. It is unclear...

But I do agree that a cheaper machine is a good idea :)

Flying from boats can be a whole other challenge in itself. Gyros in the FC and in the Gimbal like to be stable while arming. And another gotcha is that boats move around so it may be in a different spot when RTL kicks in in a fail-safe condition.. If you get a low Batt fail-safe for instance it...

    Question about battery chargers

Your guys' batteries must not last long! I found I double to triple the lifespan by staying to 1c charge rates, regardless of what the battery manufacturer says about rates.

It takes a special kind of person

I know exactly how he felt lol. I lost my first 550 hex in a tree. Way up top in the spindly pencil sized branches with absolutely no chance of climbing. I contemplated getting an axe but the tree was on city property... I probably would have landed in jail. But I do indeed know how he felt.

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

I haven't flown the a6300 yet as my machine is still set up for my Canon 5D but what difference does it make if it's aerial or ground footage. The lens is still great. ;) We should note that with crop factor the 10-18 equals a 16-24 which is the sweet spot for aerial. If you want to see...

I'm not sure about wookong I have never used them at all. What I do is fly my "beater hexa" that I have all the same electronics on.. same RX and FC even the same BEC etc. as on my camera bird. I built it on a cheap F550 frame that I can afford to crash. I always fly the beater for two...

    Sony A6300 Camera Discussion

This is the lens you want: http://amzn.to/2aePMoU The Sel35f18 is too narrow and there's no point in spending on fast glass when you'll be shooting at f8-f11 for DOF anyway. The SEL1018 10-18mm covers all the bases, is sharp as hell for a wide angle. And the zoom throw is very short so you can...

I haven't looked for any recently myself. There are a few hdmi cables out now with reversed plug. It's probably worth a serious search through the various vendors to see if they have any reversed boards yet. Please let us know what you find out. Video looks pretty good but perhaps a better lens...

    Topographic mapping HELP PLEASE

Agree. Not only do you have to capture the data, but there's a ton of post processing in 3d modeling programs etc as well. I have 4 years flying semi pro machines and a very extensive background in 3d modeling and I think it would take me at least a few months to come up to speed to tackle...

This is great advice. You don't say which flight controller you have Tiagoo. With APM/Pixhawk you have GPS signal strength readout in Mission Planner.. You could do as Old Man suggests and even before leaving the ground you could move the craft in and through the field of WiFi and carefully...
