    Flight Simulators ?...

Flight sims are worth it yes but in my humble opinion, a micro quad is the best way to learn. I trashed a number of Blade MQX's before finally moving into something bigger (a DJI F550 hex). There's no substitute for the 'real' flying experience and feel you get from the micros no matter how...

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

Yup definitely still signed in, can edit my last post in this thread but not older ones so I guess it's a forum feature. Perhaps if Bart or a mod sees this they can help :)

    new texas drone pilot

Welcome to the forums Rob! I'm surprised you found us here, I didn't think Texans could use computers (**my witty retort....I don't mean it either**) :D Sounds like you've got a plan and I'm sure you're aware of the legislative issues being the hot topic for commercial multirotor use at the...

    SeaHEX

Welcome to the forums! hah! How long have you got to listen to the debate? :p It's one of those 'ask ten different people, get ten different answers' questions!

    And Finally....one from (Drum roll)..West Africa !!

Welcome to the forums! I'm impressed you only used two brains to get here - it took me at least 3! :D

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

Yup, you should definitely choose your switches to suit your own personal preferences. I actually have gimbal control on RS for the ease of access reason but I used S1 as an example in the first post mainly because as you point out, the sliders on the taranis aren't that great (one of it's few...

Can manual mode be disabled but made available for compass calibration?

You can start the calibration by either flicking between GPS and Manual or by flicking between GPS and ATTI. Just make sure you start with the switch in the GPS position and finish with the switch in the GPS position (and flick between the two at least 5 times/5 cycles) So yes, to the OP, you...

    Another UK-er (run for cover!)

Blimey, 3 weeks already since my grand plans to 'finish' this build.... Well today I managed to at least get the FPV element set up. Sounds simple but involved essentially rebuilding the entire thing again! As part of the process, I ended up moving the GoPro to sit forward (instead of central...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

Coincidentally, the thread I read before this included this comment, made about the same time you posted this! http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?17432-Naza-v2-malfunction-open-ocean-crash-vid&p=150583&viewfull=1#post150583 5 months since he paid and it's still got to be...

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

:encouragement: pleased it's of use :encouragement: Hey gomotomoto, 5 - Don't skip channel 5 & 6. It's easier to set up now whilst you're in the tx menus and working through logically. If you're keeping basic, I would use channel 5 for remote gain adjustment (which I found very useful...

Taranis FrSky/X8R Naza 2 setup questions - basic manual settings questions

Hey gomotomoto, 5 - Don't skip channel 5 & 6. It's easier to set up now whilst you're in the tx menus and working through logically. If you're keeping basic, I would use channel 5 for remote gain adjustment (which I found very useful when you're first trying to get the 'feel' for how your...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

I just realised you said the F450 and I measured the F550. However, it's got to be the same as I think they both use the same arms (which the boards attach to top and bottom) don't they?

    manual home lock

I don't have a phantom 2 (but I think it uses the naza-m V2?) and I haven't actually tried this with my Naza-m V2 but the DJI wiki indicates that it is possible yes. http://wiki.dji.com/en/index.php/Naza-M-V2_Intelligent_Orientation_Control It seems you would need to have the aircraft in a...

    Control Switch Ergos

I would have thought it's purely down to personal preference. I have IOC on the right and Flight mode on the left with my gimbal pitch control also on the right. Works well for me but perhaps that's because I don't use/intend to use IOC that much.

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

Pleased it's proving helpful for some of you :) I was going to edit my original post a little including step #6 in 'setting the failsafe' because I've since realized that pressing the F/S button on the rx isn't necessary if you're using the X8R (although equally, it doesn't hurt anything if you...

    Another UK-er (run for cover!)

Haha, if you appreciate those videos you must have too much time on your hands!! Next step is to finally get the mini iosd, datalink and AVL58 installed and set up - probably the bit I've been looking forward to most! Can't wait to play with the groundstation features but realistically, I doubt...
