Just checked, no. It says "google earth could not connect server etc.". It suggest a diagnosis, which then crashes the program.
So what next? Windows 7.

I don't know....I am using windows 7 and do not have a problem using google earth. I sometimes cannot get Google maps to work

Hi Chris

I have the software on my website under resources.

Depending on when you bought your YS-X6 will determine whether you can get this Point to Point working. My wifi module does not allow it as it was one of the first ones sold.

As far as I know, if your wifi module has an SSID of either ZERO-TECH or YS-X6 then it will be able to do P2P but if the SSID is YS-X6-xxxxxxxx then it can't.

Cheers
Rob

Thanks Rob, there is some good stuff on your resources page. Looks like my YSX6 is an earlier one.

Rob,

How does this work? I owned a ysx6. I now order the wifi version. And then contact zerouav and they will send me the navigator upgrade firmware for free?

I got myself a futaba T8FG and a R6208SB rx to use with my copters because it has got sBUS and 14 channels. Unfortunately I am not a Futaba man and I am totally flummoxed. I can get the YS-X6 working fine with SBUS but I want to reprogram the existing receiver ports 1 to 8 to use the extra channels. The YS uses channels 1 to 6 on SBUS and I would like to reprogram the receiver ports to work with channels 7 upwards to control my gimbal and camera. At the moment in their default state they mimic the SBUS channels 1-6.
I cannot understand the instructions in the Manual which involve using a sort of bind plug in the data port. Is there any Futaba Guru out there who can tell me how I can use these extra channels?

Hi chris, you aren't Robinson Crusoe on this one , I have got 2 switches working for channel 5 & 6 I have setup 7 & 8 for the 2 Volume controls for the gimbal but doesn't work yet , you set this up under the function setup, lovely radio makes instal easy but manual you just have to read & read can't help much more than that at this point. John.

Hi Chris, you can just assign a switch or knob for channel you like to use in function menu, and then plug in whatever you like to use in your rx pwm port, and that should be pretty much all you need to do. You can plug gimbal to rx channels 7-8 (or channels 9-12 with "bind plug") and what i've found handy is to add second receiver for gimbal and use them simultaneously with one tx.

Thanks guys. If I understand correctly the SBUS uses channels 1 to 6 for the YS. I have set that up OK including the 3 post switches for channels 5 and 6.
I need 2 more channels for the gimbal (tilt and pan using photo higher skyline) 1 more channel for the skyline control channel, and another channel for switching the camera between video and stills.
I make that 10 channels which is why I bought the Futaba.
What I still can't get my head around is how to use the bind plug to assign the existing ports to channels higher than number 8.
Do I need a SBUS hub?

Sorry to be such a Futaba Noob, but my thinking is hidebound by earlier JR technology!

Hi guys, new YS-X6 owner... My droidworx XM hexa is fully setup and ready to go but I'm getting some pretty weird behavior from the YS-X6 so I wanted to check with some of the experts out there...

So, I notice the following three things which I find strange. Could you let me know if any of these are normal or abnormal! I haven't yet dared to actually fly the thing and all my tests are done on the ground with motors connected but no props. I also believe I've followed all other instructions to configure everything (but haven't yet done the magnetic compass calibration)

1) The quick start guide says that the motors never stop turning when in altitude and gps mode. Well, when at home (without props attached) when I increase throttle and then reduce it (when in altitude or gps modes) the motors turn off completely and the real servo output (from the software) says throttle output is 7 (which is my minimum)

2) When in manual mode the throttle in and real throttle out are the same (e.g. 50 throttle in gives 50 throttle out). However, when in altitude or gps mode (and on the ground without props) I get something like in 20 - out 10, in 50, out 20, in 70, out 40.

Thanks!!!

Get the props on, and do a few manual tests, like increase throttle softly until it's nearly going to lift off, and when it looks light on its feet, do a few little manouvers to see if forward is forwarded, etc, etc. When satisfied, head on up to 3feet. Then do a manual hover, get used to its reaction. Do a little yaw, and aileron test. Then once satisfied, flick it into gps auto hover and feel you're heart beat like crazy. Careful it is in GPS auto hover, not return home/back land.

Motors won't react well in GPS mode inside.

Hey Chris - I;'m having the same exact issue. Let me know if you figure it out.

Well I think I have got to the bottom of it. You cannot reprogram the existing ports to higher channels. If you are not using SBUS servos you need the Futaba smart lead for every 3 servos which would mean 1 would be enough. BUT it is £45 and you need a programming box for it as well which brings it up to 100 quid or so.

Hobbyking however do a 4 port lead and programmer for SBUS (non futaba) for a fraction of the price #029000001/24481 SBD4 4-Channel S.BUS Decoder and Program Card .
As far as I can see this will do the job all you need do is put the 4 port HK decoder on a Y lead with the port 7 on the YS controller and you have channels 9 to 12 to play with.

I have orderd it but not got it yet so cannot confirm that it will work but I am confident.

I just got a YS-X4 Navigator nin the Xmas deal from zeroUAV
Just a quickie, Is anyone running this from the same router and android as the YS-X6 as I intend to do.
Any Issues? Conflicts?

No issues as long as you don't have both systems connected same time. Might be also good idea to set custom SSID to router if there is possibility you are flying at same time in same area with someone else who have YS machines.

Thanks Chris! Actually it's plus degrees at the moment and snow is almost gone at least here in south. Hope we'll get winter back soon :)

As Kari is doing, I have both connected to the same Router using the same SSID. Makes life easy :)

Thanks Rob, Mine of information as usual. I am coming to RSA next week but not sure how long I am staying in Johannesburg. Nic, it all seems to be sweet athough I havnt put it in an airframe yet. I got a free power module for the YS6 with it and loadsa waypoints upgrade, not that I can invisage actually using them! Bloody wet here, looking forward to being in the southern hemisphere!
