What cool stuff can I do with my spare channel?

Hi, sorry if this is a really noob question, but I've only just started out and would appreciate some help. So I've got my DJI F550 setup nicely and I've just added FPV, but I had a thought....
I've got a Spektrum DX6i and an AR6210 receiver, and I think I'm right in saying that 5 of the 6 channels are in use by the Naza:
Aileron
Pitch
Yaw
Throttle
Gear (MANUAL/ATT)

So I was wondering what could be done with the last channel. For example, could I just connect a servo and have it so that when I flicked a two position switch on the transmitter, something could be dropped from the multirotor like a "carepackage"... How would you configure the two positions for the servo? I've only ever used the Naza Assistant software to do stuff like this (i.e. Gear switch configuration).

Is there anything else that I could do with a single channel and two-position switches?? Any ideas? I'd appreciate it...

Turn some lights on and off?

You can install these lights from Hobbyking:

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=23792

Plug them to the spare channel of your receiver and power them with your flight lipo. I bought a 2 meter long aluminium rod and bent it like a Christmas tree. It is locked to the F550 arms with zip ties. I fly it at night and the kids (an not so kids) love it. You can cycle 9 combinations of colours/flashing patterns with your receiver. People think they are seeing an UFO:nevreness:

If you want to drop something from the F550 this is what I made to drop water balloons from my Trex 550E helicopter:

I bought this quick release mechanism from BVM:

Have fun!

you can assign one channel to gains so you can mess with them and see what they do

that receiver isn't compatible with nazas failsafe. if it looses signal i'm pretty sure it'll go out of control, not hover

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
check out www.canakit.com. you can do all sorts of stuff with the arduino platform. i bought the starter kit to get a feel for things but they have all sorts of little projects that might be fun to adapt to a multirotor heli.
