UK / Europe MRF Community Meet

Just packing now, racking my brain to make sure I have everything!

Gunter.

I forgot to bring my GoPano Mini, it's a 360 camera lens for an iPhone to take 360 video (google street view ish). Wanted to see if we could mount it to a MR. Would be sweet!

Also didn't bring a PC and my mac doesn't have windows, if we do rebuild by quad to Y6 I'll need to borrow someones windows laptop. Pretty please?

Sure, I'll have 2 with me. a 32 bit and 64 bit. What software do you need? If it's not Wookong, bring a memory stick with the drivers...

Thanks!

It's hoverfly, I may not need it. It's only a small online download and can use my phone connection if necessary.

Excited now

Just got back to York, had a great time. Fantastic meeting everyone and seeing the different machines. I will put up some photos I took over the weekend. :)

Yep, great day, great to see everyone and their 'copters. Thanks for puting us up Droider and bringing along product Quadcopters.

Even got to fly despite the blustery wind, nice.

Agreed, Dave has been a superb host and I have had a great day. After a couple of hours work on the heli, she made a very successfull maiden flight...I just need to play with gain settings now, but I am over the moon. Just had a bite to eat and ready for bed now! Videos to follow tomorrow when I get hold of them :)

I had a good time. Big thanks to Dave for hosting it!

It was great to finally meet real people who know and fly these things! Saw so many of the multirotors I had only ever seen pictures of or read about. Great experience and I learnt a lot!

Also was good to see the skill proper pilots have in flying around their craft and has inspired me to practise more. The random, perpetually near crashing 'style' I have won't do!

Wayno have you manage to get your Y6 flying yet? Also did your ar drone ever fly properly again? :)

Ben.

Geoff, your motors are ace, nice and smooth, and they lift a heavy old metal lump off the ground lovely. :)

A BIG thank you to ALL

I aint got a great deal of time to post my thoughts on the meet and all the crazy and not so crazy peeps that made the effort to come north.

I witnessed a great gathering of people with so much to offer our community. ALL innovators.

I learned lots.

When I have a bit more time I will list my favourite bits..

I think everyone took away more than they brought in the form on knowledge which was really the whole point.

It would be good if everyone who attended at some point posts the best lightbulb moment the had at the meet...

Just a BIG Thanks to Jake Bullit for the bacon, sausage, bread and stuff AND being the first to post some videos of some of the best bits. The sausage and bacon was enjoyed not just on the saturday but on the sunday where it was a nice surprise for the people who had travelled a long way( I have your cool box). I think there will be more to come from all the others with cameras whirling and shutters clicking..

Geoff from quadcopters.co.uk.. his collection of mulitis is amazing.. and his knowledge of all the fc's helped just about everyone on the day..

Ill post more later

Dave

Glad you like them , And it was great after following your new build with great interest being one of the privileged few to witness the maiden flight , which I might add was a pleasure to see :)
For those that have not seen Gunters new build in the flesh , I can say there as been a lot of thought and hard work gone into it and im sure it impressed everybody on the day .

It flies, and MUCH better than the quad, really stable even in wind as blustery as on Sat. I'm gonna need more and bigger batteries though. Its not got anywhere near the climb out rate that the quad had but hey, its for AV not 3D flying. I'll update my 'build log ish' thread soon http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?1074-Hello-from-Milton-Keynes-UK&p=13100#post13100

Not sure about the drone, i just put it away, it'll be fine and i doubt you 'did' anything to it ;-)
