Jack, we had exactly the same when we ran a paralinx to 'broadcast' out the feed.

Yeah I think its just gonna cause issues - will get a second rx. How you finding the range now? we've been getting a good 500m for the most part - much better than the tomahawk was!

Anyone after a paralinx arrow plus 1:2 kit?

Come to think of it, they went hardwire HDMI from the Amimon RX 15' to a monitor, then looped out of that to the Paralinx TX. Guess the separation was sufficient to not cause issues. Still, I agree HDMI barely works when it's supposed to so adding this layer of handshaking is probably not the best idea.

Still getting range issues but it does really depend on the topography of the site we are flying.

I know I am a bit late to the party here but can anyone weigh in on performance vs lightbridge? I know of a few people that successfully use LB for video only.

Hi Carapau,

Antennas installation has a huge affect on range. See the video and article below for instructions how to mount the antennas in an optimal position:
https://connexuav.zendesk.com/hc/en...o-DJI-S900-or-S1000-for-best-reception-Video-
https://connexuav.zendesk.com/hc/en...uidelines-for-optimal-video-quality-and-range

Also, there is a configuration option for enhanced robustness and range in difficult RF conditions:

If you still have range issues, I would like to encourage you to issue support tickets in the CONNEX support center:

I have used light bridge and it's a great unit, but the latency is seriously there. like swipe your hand in front of the camera and you won;t see it move past the lens for almost a second. The Connex is immediate. Obviously there is no such thing a ZERO latency, but the Connex system is pretty close. I'm sorry I am delaying my review, but the two rigs I was using for testing have had issues (as stated in the H6 thread) I'm going to try and set up the Connex on my test sled (simple vulcan quad) and finish the review this week. But that being said I have used the Connex a few times and if you position the antenna right it's pretty amazing.

I have a Lightbridge unit, but no Connex. From what I'm reading here the comparison is pretty obvious. The Connex has near zero latency, while the Lightbridge has more range. That seems like the key tradeoff between the two.

So maybe lightbridge is better for a search and rescue rig and connex for your ap/av.

If I knew i could get a solid and consistent 500 meters from connex it would be worth it

Lightbridge gives me a solid kilometer of range (both on my Inspire and the stand-alone Lightbridge unit). Latency is there, however, and if I needed very low/zero latency for closer in use the Connex seems like a great option.

Hi Carapau,

Thanks for this Shahar. I think my antennae are well placed- I spent a lot of time optimising them. Some days I get great range and others it can be poor.

Quick question, would adding clover leaf/skew plannar antennae pairs help at all especially if coupled to a patch antenna such as those offered by Fat Shark? Makes a massive difference on the 5.8GHz SD links.

Hi Carapau,

We've tested extensively the antennas we provide with CONNEX.
I'm sorry, but I can not commend on other antennas which we did not try. From my experience with RF equipment, there is no replacement for trial and error. If you have a few clover leaf/skew plannar antenna, i think it worth trying them.

About the range, did you try changing the configuration for enhanced robustness?
