Equipment insurance?

Anyone out there found a insurance company in the US that will write equipment coverage on a s800 aerialpak.com used to but no longer offers this because of to mamy claims. They still do general liability but no equipment loss!

have you asked who insures your house? there is something called riders i've seen used on camera equipment. not sure about the thing holding the cam though.....

make sure that if your doing work for hire and not certified by the faa that if you have a problem, even if your agent swears up and down on his mamas grave that your covered, your not. kinda like driving drunk and getting in an accident....... is it insurable yes, can you fly it unlawfully and get paid on a claim, no. in the US anyways, not sure about elsewhere

OK so the outdoor channel movie production company's ect are excluded I don't think so you shoot and fly for fun if when you are done someone wants to buy the footage that's not for hire...just sayin its such a grey area at the moment its like everything else flying for fun under 400 feet under 25 pound pay load and more than 3 miles from a airport I think your fine.

completely understood and i'm in the same boat. but lets say your on set and the thing comes down and wipes out a really expensive camera or hurts somebody the faa will be involved and the attorneys will be very keen to the problem and what to do about it. I heard the hartford is currently offering liability only if your for real legit. otherwise the hobby guy puts it on a rider with there home owners insurance like the hobby guys camera equipment. My cousin is my State Farm agent and i asked him the question and told him the current state of where were at and that was the answer he gave me. I'm in Cali so i'm sure some of it is state to state, except legitimate coverage is a federal law thing your keeping off your back

Theres a pretty big thread in the AP forum i think at helifreak about this, 5-6 pages, all what i said for the most part.

as far as I can find that there is not a way to get certified, I heard rumor of new rules earlier this year but any applications are not available that i can find.
Do you know a way...

Wait wait, does this mean my meth lab is not covered under my home owners insurance? Aerialpak denied me when i told them I ship drugs over the border with an rc drone. I hope no one gets hurt by that guy selling tacos from his taco copter!

My question is why I need a coa to fly my help but not my ROC airplane rc aircraft has been around for years and years and I'm flying for hobby so what's the problem....if so neo e wants to by my video when does how does this violate anything? Coa or not.

no problem. I'm the furthest thing from an attorney your gonna talk to about this, but a uas aint a multi rotor, it's a rc anything. if it goes a certain speed and can fly above a certain elevation these are all considered uav. it might be sattelite guidance to that makes that diferentiation, but thats my understanding

when theres no law making something legal we call it unlawful. if theres a law and we break it is called illegal, anything that has a law and you don't break any is legal. It's our America,,,,,, everybody wanted change, here ya go. Tastes like crap if you ask me, but that's what dumb ol kloner knows about it,,,, eagerly waiting. I'll have to get an attorney to explain it all to me before i do anything, got houses, cars, stuff they'll take LEGALLY

Hmm do you do think all those hollywood shots in movies are done in the United States??? Do you believe that the US is the most expensive place to do anything??? Last question for you guys... Do you think movie studios and production companies like to work in the US where its 1000 times more expensive for permits, wages, taxes??? Keep in mind the individuals that own everything are always looking to save money.

So I say dont swet the small stuff. Just get good at your profession, and let the chips fall where they may... If your worried about FAA parts and all this stuff well you will be waiting a long time, and the guys out there are goin to be light years ahead of you. " If there is a Will there is A WAY!
