    It was fun

Good Question. We have a young guy here in Tampa who is doing builds, parts, 3D printing and it looks like he's doing very well. Blackbird FPV is what he calls it. It's not a standard hobby shop in a money guzzling strip mall but he seems busy enough.

    Tarot 650, What A Disappointment

Sorry to hear you are unhappy. I am thrilled with mine. (Maybe I thrill easily) I thought the parts went together well and it is light when completed. It easily handles my big 4830 motors and flys like a dream with a V-1 Naza. I hope it all works out well for you.

Not what we need in the news

So Noah410, what else should be "Mandatory"? Navigation lights? Transponders? $5 million dollar insurance policy? Be careful what you wish for when you start making things "Mandatory".

Not what we need in the news

I agree. That copter did NOT come thru that hole to end up on the floor. I am not even buying that it came thru a roof.

    Tarot 650, What A Disappointment

I installed the Quanum Retractable gear that Hobby King sells for $70. I shortened the mounting angles about 1" and they work great. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=56988 However, talking about truth in advertising,, their ad clearly depicts a camera mount...

    Y6 Builders thread

My Y6 is about 700mm and I use a Naza V1 and it works just fine. I think I'm going to leave it alone. :nevreness:

    Y6 Builders thread

I agree but I'll try some 9" on the top to see what difference it might make. Maybe some 11' on the bottom after that to see if it affects flight times. Thanks

    Y6 Builders thread

My Y6 flies well with 6 1045 props. Might it fly better with 9" props on the lower motors?

Slightly OT: Anyone else having problems with bird attacks?

I use the APC Props (the All Purpose Cutter). They do occasionally attack but usually only once. I'm thinking it is a strange threat to them. I don't think they see the props until it's too late. I generally give them some room or drop down until they give up. I hate removing "ex-bird" from...

    Recommendations on Y6 setup?

I used a Matt Hall design ( http://www.simplecopter.com/simple-tricopter-2-0/ ). It has a spread of about 70mm. I installed a Naza V1, 2836/9 950 Hobbyking motors with cheap plastic 1038 Hobbyking props, top and bottom. It has RC Manchild ESC's (...

Gem Fan Nylon/Carbon Props: Are the hubs really THIS off balance!?

IMHO and my only experience with a prop break at the hub, was due to repeated over tightening. There is a mold like on many of the hubs and with repeated crushing by a prop nut I believe this line becomes a weak link. My only broken prop was right on this line. Counter opinions welcomed.

This should be a real hot topic on the national news... spy drones on demand

This is one of the reasons I dislike blogs. Some idiot comes up with a hair brained idea then "Blogs" it and all of a sudden it becomes gospel because it was on the internet. Not saying that is what this is but we have seen it so many times over. Opinions are like a$$holes and everybody has...

    Sourceing Parts

Some of the hardest parts to find for me have been landing gear or frame fittings. Like the 90 degree connectors for 10mm rod to say a 16-25mm frame piece. If anyone knows a source I'd like to have it.

Watch out sporting event TFR now includes model aircraft and RPAS in the USA

This is why it is more important then ever here in the US to get out and vote. We are quickly moving to a police/nanny state where we are not allowed to think for ourselves. I don't want to sound like some anti government nut job but we are losing freedoms by the day. I am all for safety and I...

Major Solar Storm NOW - GPS risk!

There is an App for that. Solar Activity Monitor along with Magnetic Field Detector for Android. I don't know how accurate they are but they seem to work and at least do what they say they will. That's more then you get d=from DJI sometimes. :tennis:

Client edited our vid and here it is

I get it that the "Artist" in you is upset. That is how artist's get when critiqued or criticized but what is your artistry? Flying? Video? Musical director? Art is in the eye of the beholder and no one sees everything alike. Obviously the "Art Director" in this case feels her expertise and...
