    L.e.d

How do you plan to use it? Connecting several together? I personally have found the HobbyKing string of LEDs to be phenomenal for me. I use a red string along the back, and a white strip along the front.

Adjustable RTH Altitiude on NAZA V2?

If you are flying above the treeline, then you are fine. The RTH does not descend until it gets over the takeoff point. But you are right, that if you takeoff, go over the trees, then descend on the other side, then it would be a problem.

6 Motor Failures. What is this noob doing wrong.

I definitely am not qualified to help you debug this issue, but I do know the first question that someone will be asking is what battery type/size are you using? I'm guessing 3S or 4S, but you might want to put that information out there for those ESC/motor savvy people out there to help you...

Before you buy, please read this

MTDCopter, I would recommend RCRUS because of your proximity to them. When I was in Philly for a business trip, twice I took a day trip down to visit them in person (my trip spanned two weekends, so each Saturday I went down). I learned a lot just hanging out with them and see them build the...

DJI ESC's (do you trust them?)

I'm not interested in using any other ESCs than the stock ones from DJI, but I would be curious to see how would anyone ever connect up any other ESC because of where and how they are installed on the S800.

Adjustable RTH Altitiude on NAZA V2?

No, that feature is only available at the time for the Wookong. It's fixed on the Naza to 20 meters above the takeoff altitude.

Hello! From the "Show Me State" (ughm...Missouri?)....Kansas City area

I have been buying my stuff from RCRUS. They are one of the official DJI distributors (you can see from the DJI website); and, no, there aren't any in the KC area. :( If there were, I'd be all over that. =D And, yes, I find it very good to develop a relationship with the vendor(s).

ZENMUSE GOPRO H3-2D Brushless Gimbal ARRIVED at Aerial Media Pros

Patrick, Can you tell us what kind of controls exist for the GoPro Hero3? Does it support photo shutter (i.e. taking a photo) and start/stop video? How about other controls such as the Field Of View? Thanks, Tim

Dumb Question... trimming my copter for manual mode

My understanding for Wook and Naza is that it registers as neutral the position/input when you finish the stick calibration routine in the Assistant Software. I thought I had read that somewhere on this forum or rcgroups when I was trying to register throttle center to properly hold altitude.

Dumb Question... trimming my copter for manual mode

I am still learning this stuff myself, but I have never even seen anybody mentioned trimming in manual mode. I had always understood that drifting would be an issue of CG, and that was my case: when my MR was manual and attitude mode I was getting a little drifting, and it was due to weight and...

DJI has released the new firmware v3.12 for Naza-M

lol... Happens to all of us. BTW, you will also notice a new mode blinking philosophy: you will see a double blink (yellow or green, depending on the mode) telling you if all four of you controls are not fully centered. Helps to gauge if the Naza thinks you're at 50% or not for holding altitude.

DJI has released the new firmware v3.12 for Naza-M

PeteDee, NAB is the National Association of Broadcasters and at that tradeshow all kinds of new video technologies are on display, and this year featured a lot of aerial capture with the likes of DJI and other manufacturers present. Colin is the CEO of DJI North America so he was present...

    Newb needs advice

squarjn, I have never piecemealed an MR together, so I won't be able to help much. However, I will answer a couple of questions you had: 1) Yes, you do need one ESC per motor. 2) From the little I read on the HobbyKing website, those ESCs are under powered for those motors. If you read the...

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Bart, could you explain what you're saying again? I'm confused by it. The black lead on the balance tap is the Gnd pin, so if you need 3S for your FC/Rx, it seems to me you should be using black lead and the 3S pin.

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Pete is totally correct. Voltage is a differential. And as he pointed out, as long as you don't common "ground" them, you're fine. In my case, I'm hooking up to LEDs which don't have a "ground", per sae, but just a '+' and '-'. I would never try this concept on anything that does truly ground...

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Maverick, I was thinking exactly the same thing as I was out driving today doing errands. Since I actually have two banks of LEDs, I can tap one off from Gnd to pin 4, and another from pin 4 to pin 7. That would even out the cells, even though I agree it wouldn't make a big difference either...

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

It worked. The 12V regulator is 10mm by 10mm by 4mm. On the downside, for $1.99 what you get is 12V but only up to ~400mA (about 1m of LEDs). So I may have to go with a 12V UBEC, or try your idea of wiring them in series. (FYI, the S800 only runs on 6S, so can't switch away from those.)

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Pete, do you mean in series? If I did them in parallel, each strip would still get 12V. BTW, what I did today was pick up a $1.99 12V regulator (something two people recommended), and I am actually in the process of wiring them up now. I've already confirmed the regulator's output voltage...

I was wrong. The data is being logged at 50Hz (i.e. 0.02sec intervals).
