    F550 Battery mounting

The left side 12V is a jumper you solder together to select 12V output. If you don't solder those together it outputs 5V.

    F550 Battery mounting

Looks like it does, the 6R8 seen on the board is an inductor.

No worries, I have a EE degree.

Also, no shielding is necessary. The EM field will be wideband, producing little or no power in the 5.8GHz band.

    F550 Battery mounting

It sure sounds big to me. At 12V, 600mW draws 50mA. So a 2200mah battery would theoretically run for something like 44 hours. You could easily step down to something like 500mah.

    F550 Battery mounting

The purpose of the BEC is to convert input voltage of 6V-24V to 12V output. The LC filter inside is to eliminate voltage spikes and sag. I am not sure which would produce more runtime, it depends on the weight of the second battery.

    F550 Battery mounting

Here is a tiny and cheap one with 43 5-star reviews... http://m.banggood.com/5V-12V-Adjustable-Voltage-Dual-BEC-Output-Board-Only-1g-pnew-1031884.html

    F550 Battery mounting

The tx supports 2S or 3S directly, but the BEC will supply 12V (or 5V if that's what you need) to the tx, even if you run 6S. A BEC should never introduce noise itself, but can pass noise from the ESCs and motors if it is not filtered. So be sure to choose one with an internal LC filter, which...

    F550 Battery mounting

What about a BEC (battery eliminator circuit)? I would get a PDB with 12V and 5V outputs, no battery needed, and the outputs are filtered. If your PDB is already wired up, you can put a stand alone BEC in.

Noob Looking for advise on first purchase!

Looks like a good choice in the Loki. I myself am waiting for delivery of an SRD101, but it is probably still a week out. I will post on here once I get a chance to check it out. Apart from the Loki, you might check out Droneproz.com, they have some really good stuff and individually tune...

    Anyone used the HMDVR?

Hi guys, I am looking at adding an HMDVR to my 230 racing quad. Has anyone used it? I would rather trade the video quality for weight, compared to using a GoPro but not if it totally sucks... I will be running it onboard the quad, so I don't anticipate any lag (it is wired in parallel with...

    Winter/High altitude filming

I don't have any personal experience, but a lipo will work fine at low temps, except it will be a little low on voltage (and therefore lifting power) until it warms up. Runtime should not be affected much, if at all. I have heard some guys encase the battery in foam if it is exposed outside...

    Motor Questions

I agree this shouldn't be an issue. It just means you need to tighten the nylock nuts tight. My friend has 2300kv motors, all CW. It came prebuilt and pretuned from a quality California shop. Also, the jumpy rotation is normal for new motors, it is indeed the magnets.

Issue with stability in kk2 board on a hex

I would confirm that the motor numbers (location) AND rotation matches what the kk2 wants, here is a picture I found.

Issue with stability in kk2 board on a hex

Hmm, it appears from the video that the copter yaws both directions. Is it just doing one direction all the time? It sounds like motor rotation direction or order could be off. Just a hunch. Hopefully someone else will chime in too.

Issue with stability in kk2 board on a hex

Hi, Have you double checked the motor order, and set the yaw orientation to match how your flight controller is oriented in your frame?

    Futaba T7c gimbal POT problem

Nice work! You may want to make sure it is a linear pot, and not logarithmic. You could measure at 4 equally spaced positions to see. I am guessing linear, but you might just double check.
