As a guess i would solder two wires one to record control and ground to the spare channel in your X8R Receiver. see what happens

Because Freefly have moved onto the alta the old cinestar frame is no longer available on there line. But you can still buy them check out quadrocopter or kopterworx still have them in kit form heres another one...

whats your price range you could look into getting a cinestar also great frames for that payload.
