Hoverfly AH. To foam or not to foam?

AH. To foam or not to foam? -- SOLVED! Hey Gang, Been reading a few posts and my Y6 is so dang stable, I never really noticed. But I engaged AH and noticed the Y trying to hold altitude, which it did within 3 feet or so. This morning it was dead calm and with the throttle curves, it held...

Hoverfly Hoverfly *** New firmware, ver .802

Bart, I'm using the Turnigy Plush 40a and haven't had any issue. As a rule, I feel the motors and esc for temperature and they only get warm. If it's over 100 here I could say they get hot and I usually don't fly.

Hoverfly First Time Y6 Questions - Props and Batteries

I would go with the 12x38 top and the 13x47 on bottom. With the 3s, you're gonna need a little higher throttle to get higher average voltage to get the same rpm as the 4s. The 12x6 and 13x6 may take a little too much bite and cause a higher current draw. This is just my educated guess. I've used...

    Greetings from Knoxville Tennessee!

Hey Bart, I started my career at MacDill AFB in 84 and got hired in the FAA in 87. I worked Miami Center from 87 to 2001 when I transferred to West Palm Beach Approach. I worked there until the wife-unit got tired of getting our asses whipped by the hurricanes, (Wilma did a lot of damage to our...

Hoverfly Hoverfly *** New firmware, ver .802

I got my head around it about in March. Now I'm no expert, but since the disturbed (or accelerated) air from the top props interfere with the lower props, the larger diameter and steeper bite will allow the lower props to produce the same power. I thought on it kinda like the moving walkways in...

Hoverfly Altitude Hold - best I can get is slowly dropping

Not that it matters, I haven't found a single post, in any forum, where Storm was happy or pleased with anything, or part of any solution. I thought maybe here, I would have escaped. *sigh*

Hoverfly Hoverfly *** New firmware, ver .802

Yeah Bart, I'm turning 12x38 on top and 13x47 on bottom for stability. I've had 11x47 on top and 13x65 on bottom and it seemed really smooth and I actually got about 90 seconds more time. It didn't hit the sweet spot on vibration with that large pitch on bottom. I have some 14x38's I believe and...

Hoverfly Hoverfly *** New firmware, ver .802

I agree Bart, it's covered but by no means inaccessible. I use a small plastic screwdriver used in RF adjustments to flip the switch. My Y6 is so smooth, it brings tears to my eyes!:tennis:

    Greetings from Knoxville Tennessee!

Hello folks... I'm new to the site from RC Groups as recommended by several others. I've been in the multi-rotor game for about 10 months now and have never had any previous RC experience whatsoever, except to watch my dad crash his only attempt while smoking a Viceroy and cussing, when I was a...

Hoverfly Hoverfly *** New firmware, ver .802

If you're not running .800, then recalibration is required. I upgraded from .800 to .802 and didn't. It flew perfectly. If you have the GPS attached, there is a new computer-free calibration method which is easier and more accurate.

Additionally, they completely eliminated any yaw surge you may have heard about. I rotated it through 360° and it behaved perfectly or as expected.

    Hoverfly Transfer from RCGroups

Hey Benjamin.... I've seen your work and you're far more professional than I am. However from a non-pro, all I can say is the large Y6 is rock smooth. I flew flew it yesterday with the GPS unit on and it was able to actually hold position within 6' or so. I didn't try RTH as I was only...

    Hoverfly Transfer from RCGroups

MR Forums and Hoverfly. If you migrated from RC Groups and want to put your name in.. Howdy folks..... just moved over from RC Groups and The forums seem, lets say, a little more civil. If anyone hasn't tried .802 yet, you're missing a treat. :tennis:
