NAZA V2 issue with Matech (SimonK) ESCs

banga - I assume you meant changing the "Motor Idle Speed" setting. I had changed that setting the first go around twice. But after you mentioned changing it, I tried it again. It finally started working after adjusting through each setting 3 times from low to high in both modes. It ended up...

NAZA V2 issue with Matech (SimonK) ESCs

Ed, Thanks for the response. But, if you read the first part of the thread I did re-calibrate. In fact, I have tried to re-calibrate the ESCs several times to ensure they each got calibrated. I also performed the TX calibration in the NAZA assistant software. And the motors do not respond at all...

MantaRay collective pitch 1230mm Multirotor Prototype

SRH are not more stable in wind until you get into the larger sizes. Again mainly due to the increase in mass. And even then, SRH are inherently unstable regardless of wind. It's the FC that makes it stable. A flybarless heli is considerably more stable then a flybarred heli because of the FC...

    MR's used in filming Olypics.

MR's used in filming Olympics. I was watching the Slopestyle snowboard competition and noticed the shadow of a Hex flying along next to the boarders at the top of the run . You can see it in a few shots from the NBC feed. I haven't seen any aerial footage yet, though. Wonder who it is and what...

MantaRay collective pitch 1230mm Multirotor Prototype

Not so sure about either point. Both methods have efficiency pluses and minuses. A single motor running multiple props has inherent inefficiencies. Stability in wind is more about the amount of mass in the air and the FC.

NAZA V2 issue with Matech (SimonK) ESCs

I have a strange issue going on here. This is a TBS Disco on 4S, T-Motor 2216-11 900kv, Maytech Eagle 30A SimonK ESCs, Spektrum AR7200, DX7. I swapped out the stock DJI 30A ESCs with the Maytechs, performed throttle calibration of the ESCs, re-calibrated the TX through the NAZA assistant...

MantaRay collective pitch 1230mm Multirotor Prototype

That's a cool idea. Figures it would be a CY project. But cool factor aside, why would you want to do that? That just introduces a huge amount of complication just to be able to go inverted, do Tic-Toc's, and piro-flips. You gain with only having 1 ESC (for electric) but lose by adding four...

Excellent explanation of the relationship between DOF, FOV and sensor size.

Embedded video link works perfectly. Some good info there.

F550 Skating prior to take off

Check your ESC connections to the FC. Make sure they are plugged into the correct ports.

small battery for FPV system - how small?

If you run a gimbal too that will change your power needs. I am only running a FPV cam and TX with the 450mah. If you are running a GoPro (or similar), the TX, and a gimbal, the 800 or 1000 would probably be a better choice.

    Flight Tips for new pilots

A couple of tips: Learn your aircraft inside and out. You should know what everything is, what it does, and how it works. Don't fly near people. If possible, find a nice open area away from everything. Keep your aircraft close. Practice, practice, practice. Don't rely on the "Controller", GPS...

    FPV and orientation

Two different animals. Your "orientation" while flying FPV is from the craft. Essentially a cockpit view. So no matter what direction or position of the craft your orientation stays the same. Left is left, right is right, fwd, back, etc. LOS flying is totally different. Your perspective is...

small battery for FPV system - how small?

If all you are running is your FPV cam and TX you can go pretty small. I run a 450mah 3S on my disco. It lasts for easily 30 min. They were $9 so I have 4.

The Future of commercial UAV congressional hearing

^^^ +1 Jes1111. Old Man - By that logic the internet, television, video cameras, and cell phones, etc., should never have been created and allowed to be used by the public. As all of them have been misused to varying degrees. Secondly, there is a huge difference in capabilities between a...

FYI: Carbon Fiber tubes - how they are constructed - Enjoy ;)

CF is only "toxic" when cutting or sanding. The flakes or dust can cause health issues if inhaled/ingested.

Anyone ever ordered from ProUAV.com? I'm worried...

You are absolutely correct. There are scammers everywhere. I was merely pointing out that there are several in that area and to be careful. Glad to hear that you don't appear to be one of them. But may I suggest adding more information to your site in regards to where you are and some actual...

Anyone ever ordered from ProUAV.com? I'm worried...

Yeah. Gotta be careful. There are a bunch of "businesses" located in the Montreal and Quebec areas that are notorious scammers. Hope it works out for ya.

Anyone ever ordered from ProUAV.com? I'm worried...

I don't know anything about them. But I am wary of any site that does not list anything for contact info. No address - phone - location. Nothing. I even did a BBB search - nothing. Did they already bill your account?

Nonsense getting better every day: Amazon to ship stuff with drones.....

The robot thing I can see being more viable than the MR's. (Except for the self driven vehicle. I don't see the public embracing autonomous vehicles on the roads just yet.) A single truck (Driven by a human, not a sensing robot), with multiple delivery bots, drives to a central location and the...
