    8400 Zippy Lipo's

Bart, did you notice those are not LiPo's? They are A123 or LiFe with a different, lower nominal voltage.

Multiple antenna on video downlink Tx ... Practical?

Andy, the signal line loss from adding additional coax and the T coupler would negate any possible benefit. At those high microwave frequencies it's best to keep cable runs as short as possible. nick

    Mikrokopter v0.88 emergency-throttle settings

True. Somehow they need to reduce that descent rate.

    Mikrokopter v0.88 emergency-throttle settings

Yeah, it's way too fast even at 99. It will require a change to the firmware to address this. I'm going to suggest to Holger that they revise this function by removing the emergency gas/throttle values altogether and make it universal: when the machine is back to the takeoff position it descends...

    Mikrokopter v0.88 emergency-throttle settings

I've been using .88 firmware since its release with very good results on a CS8 w/ gimbal that weighs about 12.5 pounds or just under 6kg. Nice flight behavior, good GPS and altitude hold. I've gotten comfortable with it and the other day I decided to finally start testing some of the fail safe...

    SkyJib/AeroDrive 8 Crash Video

A real nice rig- that's a real shame to see this. Glad to hear the camera and most of the ship survived. I know nothing about the AeroDrive so I'm stabbing in the dark but when I first started F'n around with MK gear I inadvertently knocked loose one of the surface mount components from a BL2...

The videos look good. The feature set looks good too. But man that MC is a big sucker.

Mikrokopter MK Firmware 0.88 online now

Ross, FYI for future updates you don't need to re-bind your RX. The RX does not know or care what version the FC is. You can put .82, .88 or upload Lady GaGa into it and it doesn't matter. :D After updating just change the RX type in the settings back to Spektrum Hi-Res and it will function...

    radar or laser altimiter

I think this kind of stuff is geared more to the sUAS market but does anyone here know of or have any knowledge regarding small precision altimeters for feeding accurate AGL values into an OSD? I've heard of hobby type gear like this from Arduino. Looking for additional options. nick

tstrike, thanks for taking time to post this info and video. Last time I was at NAB a few years ago multi-rotors were non-existant but those $6 warm Bud Lights were! ;) :D

For all practical purposes this is just a tick down from full size. Expensive and too big for the kind of intimate shots I think the little guys excel at. But still fascinating. S-100 / cineflex

I realize it's still a prototype but DJI is using one of those crappy 500mw 5.8Ghz TX's for the Ruling video link. I was hoping they had some kind of new video transmission system given the original promo literature claims of HD video and a 10km range. Guess I should wait until the final release...

Mikrokopter Which heat sink to get for BL's?

Shawn, the more surface area a heat sink has the better it is able to dissipate heat. The first ones you list clearly have the most surface area by virture of the number of fins. As a practical matter all three would be better than nothing and between the three the difference in temperature drop...
