    Researching a Gimbal for a BMPCC (t810).

I spoke to a maker of high end optical/payload gimbals for UAV's about this subject and they said, sadly, there just wasn't enough profit potential in the effort to get involved. Their products provide stellar payload stability and clear video for distances out to tens of miles. Sent from my...

I've learned I need to retract my recommendation of the Phobotic. Still needs a lot of tweaking I've been told. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Foxtech Pivot V2 retracts... anyone?

If you have lots of time for research you could browse the DigiKey site. The generally have a dimensional drawing for the various plugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't use Taranis, sorry. I have heard that assigning everything in Taranis can be a bit daunting at first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Chimp downs DJI

DJI got a lock on the monkey market a long time ago. OTOH, there may be some monkeys ready to change sides that have evolved beyond flipping a switch and pushing a stick after developing a desire for diversity:)

    Chimp downs DJI

All part of the Solo marketing campaign. The manufacturer fan wars have gone into over drive with the release of Solo. DJI fans are tripping over themselves trying to debase it.

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

I have been under the impression DJI links their gimbals controllers to their FC's for data exchange, using the GPS to smooth things out. Yes/no?

    x8 650 vs 720 vs 850

I was not aware of the issues with the Phobotic. Thanks for the head's up.

Take a look at these guys. Don't know where they are at in production levels. You'll still be at a grand after adding the Phobotics controller. You DO want the Phobotics. http://tppacks.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=67

So, either a cheap gimbal for a great camera or a good gimbal for a Go Pro. Did I get that right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Black Magic pocket cam with a lens weighs more than a GoPro gimbal can handle. The gimbal would require stronger motors and a wider camera mount. Had the same idea a while back and it didn't work out. Good camera for MR's though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

Back on topic, It appears most of the MR makers are moving more and more towards products that require little in the way of talent or intelligence from the operators. Even 3DR has started making quads for the "any man" that the user needs little than the ability to flip a switch and look at a...

DJI put me in business, and is taking me out...

The level of injury, although devastating to the injured, is not what defines safe or unsafe operational practices. That is at the complete control of the operator. The type of equipment used is not relevant since virtually anything can cause injury. The root cause of many injuries is the...

The supposed new FAA sUAS reg... WHEN???

Too much pressure from too many political directions for this one to languish very long. I've been wrong before but I'd be surprised if this goes any longer than the first anniversary date of the NPRM announcement. We also have the political side where sitting administrations will want to...
