"Too hot to touch" starts at about 50 degrees C - so your ESCs would seem to be okay. My own "limit" is 65 degrees but I've never measured more than 55. Don't forget to check the temperatures of wires, connectors, etc. too. Also, of course, final ESC temperature will depend on the ambient, so...

As with the previous models, the restriction to a single lens just seems to me like a show stopper, rendering its actual performance irrelevant. The ability to select from a vast range of lenses is one the few reasons to want/need to fly a DSLR rather than something smaller.

What are you doing to these motors that you need to bin them and get new ones? I can understand the bearings needing regular replacement - but the rest of the motor experiences no "wear" at all. Unless you're overheating them, maybe?

Your motor choices don't seem to add up - for AUW of 20kg you need 20/8 = 2.5kg thrust at ~50% throttle. The MN3520 motors are not even close to that. For planning such a heavy bird, definitely use www.eCalc.ch as your starting point for drivetrain choices. btw - what's the intended payload...

Many FC's do not mind at all being off-centre - I know for a fact that OPenPilot (CC3D or Revo) doesn't mind at all: you can place it anywhere on the frame.
