    High Altitude WKM

If it had been the MK I could tell you exactly how high from the flight log, with WKM who knows, I guess that capability will come with View and Waypoint. When the AD-6 has been that small visually it was up around 400 meters, the Y6 is a bit bigger than the AD-6... I was using the Nex 5N, I...

    High Altitude WKM

Just before sunset, the WKM Y6 was getting really small in the sky above me by the time I got this shot... ... yes that is the moon in the sky, not a UFO... :) Ken

DJI-M and 2 Axis Camera Mount Servos

Make sure the Automatic Control Gain in the Gimbal screen is not set to the default of 2.00, you will get minimal to no servo movement if they are. For the same mount with Savox servos I have the gains set to around 20.00 for each, they need to be at least 10 to get the servos to move. Make sure...

MK and WKM go head to head doing AV

Hmmm, interesting idea. I do have a DX7 I could bind one of the receivers to, maybe I should give that a try...;) Other than adjusting both axis centerpoints the only change made was to set the gimbal gains, the AV130 seems to work best in the 22 to 24 range. Ken

Sick of not having Telemetry, possible Workarounds.

This might be a nice solution if the price was a bit more reasonable... http://www.1001copters.com/lang-en/monocular-video-glasses/44-lunette-video-monoculaire-pirateye.html Ken

    DJI F450 Airframe released

There is also supposed to be a 700 - 800 mm version coming out as well if the rumors are correct. I think eventually you'll see an RTF version, if so it will be interesting to see which motors and props they use on it. Seems to me I've seen that 450 size frame someplace else without the DJI...

MK and WKM go head to head doing AV

This afternoon I did back to back flights with my MK/Droidworx AD6 plus AV130 camera mount and GoPro and then my WKM Y6 also with an AV130 mount and the same GoPro Hero HD. The video is completely raw MP4 only edited for length then uploaded directly to Youtube. I haven't flown the Mk for a...

    Camera Mount

I have the CC BEC on both of my AV130, one on the MK Droidworx and the other on the WKM. The newer AV130 is using the CC BEC Pro mounted to the top of the 130 and hidden away between it and the lower frame plate. The Pro has two outputs and can handle 2x the current of the smaller version which...

    Camera Mount

You will still have tilt control via a TX channel, the port you plug into depends on the configuration, quad, hex, X8, etc. and if you're using the power module with monitoring. For that you will need either a Picloc 3X to control all three axis or a second TX/RX for a camera person to...

    WooKong-H

The WKM can be setup as X8, the only thing to be aware of is if you want to use a 2 axis camera mount you will need to use a Futaba S-Bus receiver or an S-Bus converter to have enough ports on the WKM control module to plug in 8 motors plus the two servos for the mount along with the power...

    WKM Y6 flys again

My experience has been that the flat hex is a bit more stable than the Y6 overall so if raw video quality is the main objective I'd have to say that would be my preference. In cases where redundancy is a big concern, like when having an expensive camera sitting on the platform, I'd lean more...

The -H is the helicopter version and is only partly related to the -M version. The upcoming enhancements to the multirotor version are what is listed on the mini site.

    Camera Mount

After you conenct the roll and pitch servos to the appropriate ports on the WKM control box it will automatically level both axis. Be aware that you need to turn on the gimbal in the Assistamt softwaare and increase the gimbal gains before it will work. I've found that the servos will not move...

    WKM Y6 flys again

The answer is, it depends. Define 'best', best for sport flying, best for learning to fly, best for APV, best for aerobatics, best for ease of setup, ...? For an APV platform I'd have a hard time saying one is better than the other, there are situations where I'd prefer one over the other...

    WKM Y6 flys again

Having pretty much worked out all the gain issues on the flat hex configuration this past weekend I converted the WKM hex back into a Y6. The parameter settings I had for the flat hex were fairly close for the Y6 though I did have to make some changes. I haven't had a lot of time to do much...

Multicopter failures - what to look for

The only 6 motor configuration that you can rely on to continue to fly after loss of a motor is a Y6, a flat hex can theoretically still fly but the fact is it depends a lot on the weight and size of the hex as well as pilot skill. Losing any one motor on a flat hex is roughly equivalent to...

    Help choosing my Flight Controller

If you want to be able to tune the flight parameters and have open source firmware you can write the Hoverfly off the list immediately, that system is about as closed as you can get and the only tuning options are setting gains for the flight modes. The Wookong-M isn't far behind, a little more...
