Yes, first time in the field with the production Skyline RSGS. Still needs some tweaking but working much better than running the AV130 direct from the WKM. Ken

Yesterday was the 2nd annual Northeast USA multirotor meet in Swansea Massachusetts. A small get together that doubled in size from the first meet in 2011, this was the first time I attended adding to the small but enthusiastic group flying all types of multis from Walkera Ladybird to Cinestar...

    Show your FPV video

If you set the ATTI to 50 on both pitch and roll and the basics to 100 with zero expo it will be loose enough in ATTI to do pretty much anything you want to but stable enough to not feel out of control as it tends to do in manual, that's how I fly all three of my Naza 99% of the time. Having...

Aeronavics / Droidworx photohigher av130 repair

There is a grub screw on the other side that holds the pulley on the shaft. It's kind of hard to see but it's there, just look around the rim of the inner hub on the platform side of the pulley and you'll see the hole where it lives, take that out and the pulley will slide off easily. Ken

Wish I could help but I pan the whole Cinestar using the rudder stick, the RSGS pan axis is not being used on my setup, hopefully someone that has it setup and working will have some ideas to try. Ken

    Smooth pan tx settings

You should be able to do it using a programmable mix in the TX settings. Pick a channel that has a switch assigned or assign one to a switch (doesn't have to be an actual channel on the RX, at least not in the world of JR/Spektrum) and mix it to the rudder channel so that it gives the desired...

    Aeronavics / Droidworx Convert AD4 to Y6

I have a spare set of V2 AD6 centerplates I'll sell cheap. PM me if you're interested, much easier than trying to redrill quad plates... Ken

Boca bearings upgrades for Tiger(Avroto) motors.

Not front and back, top and bottom. I lube all the top bearings and give plenty of time for the lube to sink into the bearing, then I flip it upside down and lube the bottom bearings from underneath, assuming the frame allows access to do so. If not I have to unbolt the motor from the mount but...

Alternatives to gopro for autoshooting still pictures.

I recently picked up one of the $129 Heros, thing is with the addition of another TBS Disco to the fleet I could really use that 3rd GoPro at 100% so I'm not swapping one around to different frames while out flying. My #3 Hero still works, just that it has some "issues" from being smacked into...

Here's the same video I posted earlier but this time with a light touch of post process to clean it up a bit. Problem with this is the limitations of the Nex 5N begin to really show themselves in anything other than straight fore/aft motion as the stabilization takes its toll and I can see some...

Alternatives to gopro for autoshooting still pictures.

I have an older SX200 I use with CHDK and it works well for what it is. If you fly slowly with the script set to shoot as fast as possible you get enough frames to be assured of getting a fair amount of useable shots out of the total taken. Good thing digital images are cheap and easy, not like...

Yes, unstabilized and just as it came out of the camera. Setup is Cinestar 6 with AV130 and Sony Nex 5N. I hope the plow stays on the ground in front of the truck until April... Ken

Some clips from today's tuning and testing sessions, getting very close to where I want to be. If I can just smooth the roll out a tiny bit more I think I'll have it as good as this combination can get... This weekend it will get a good field test, weather permitting, we've had more rainy...

Boca bearings upgrades for Tiger(Avroto) motors.

I have a different methodology on motor bearings. First I don't buy cheap (meaning crappy) motors unless I plan on them having short lifespans, i.e. the ones I use on aerobatic quads, sometimes you just have to make sacrifices to the multirotor gods to keep things in balance. Any motor I care...

    GoPro FPV kit

Not just the plug in the back that can cause problems, there's a lot of things that can be just as disasterous flying FPV, having a flight controller that is RTH capable can be a huge asset. My QAV500 is one of the quads that I use the GoPro to fly by, on one flight I was about a half mile out...

    GoPro FPV kit

I use the GoPro for the FPV cam on two of my quads and dedicated pilot cams on a couple others. The GoPro can have some issues in both low light and pointed towards bright light sources like the sun. On the other hand a lot of FPV cams do as well unless you spend some signigicant $$$ on a good...

From memory, around 100 on tilt, 140 on roll, 50 on tilt velocity, and 30 on roll velocity. The gimbal is an AV130 upgraded with Cedric's V2 kit, well worth the investment if you have an older AV130. I have a V1 Skyline and I've run into this myself. What I do is set the level values, save...

    The Disco twins...

The all black one is my recently completed build, a definite improvement over the all DJI electronics on the first one I built, the one with the white arms in front. Currently setup with 5.8 video and a 2.4 radio RX, I'll be swapping the VTX and RX between them so the black ops version will be...

Finally stopped raining here and the sun came out, gave me a chance to get a test flight or two in with the newly rebuilt AV130 and RSGS. I'll be working with the gains a bit more to see if I can improve on where it's at now but I doubt it's going to get too much better with the current servos...
