    My brushless gimbal result

The Nex 5 fairly well fills the frame, I would not attempt to put anything bigger or heavier than a Nex on it, it's not designed or calibrated for any more weight than a 5N plus 18-55mm lens. Keep in mind that the only thing moving the camera platform is electromagnetic force between the magnets...

    My brushless gimbal result

As the weight on the platform gets lighter you need to reduce the motor power, ( power setting in the GUI ) that will eliminate the shakes on 3S. I found changing from the 18 - 55 lens on the Nex to the 16mm wide angle required substantial reduction in power to eliminate shakes with the camera...

    My brushless gimbal result

I'd take $700 for the AV130 gimbal plus RSGS, it's a V2 with maybe an hour of flight time on it. I'll be keeping the other 130 I have since they do work well for shooting stills but the brushless is definitely the way to go for video IMO. Ken

    My brushless gimbal result

This arrived earlier today, took maybe 15 minutes to get the AV130/RSGS off and this one on. Then I had to charge a battery for the beast and setup the RX in the radio again, by the time I had everything to the point of being able to do a test flight it was almost dark and had started to rain. I...

    Uavproducs.com reliable supplier?

Hopefully you ordered more than one arm to make it worth the shipping cost and to have spares. I usually order them in batches of 8 to 10, but then again I have 4 different quads that use them and I tend to have at least one of them take a rough landing or two every couple of weeks, good thing...

New guy from the bristol county MA area

Hey Joe, I wondered when you guys were going to start finding your way over here... ;) You can find the details of my little encounter with a Graupner prop here... http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?9917-I-got-bit-badly Ken

    Show your FPV video

Not the case, the first video was mangled by Youtube in post upload processing. I always upload at the resolution and frame rate that was used to record the video, 720P 60 FPS for the majority of my FPV flights using older Hero HD. All of my other Gopro FPV videos can be viewed in HD from...

    Show your FPV video

Now there's an idea, I think I'll disassemble the F450 and bolt the arms to my Revo! ;) Ken

    Show your FPV video

You can't get much lower than what I'm doing here with one of my TBS Discovery and still be flying! Not sure what Youtube did to the resolution but it was uploaded at 720P... A little less daring with the more expensive to repair QAV500... Some winter fun with the Discovery, gets difficult...

Hello from NYC/Mass - first bird?

The NEHC Phenomenon will be held again at the New England Heli Crew club field in Mansfield Massachusetts in September, the tentative dates are Septemeber 13 - 15, 2013. We now have another multirotor pilot on the board besides myself so we're definitely going to try and hold a multirotor...

Xoar 12/4.5 anyone know who has them in stock?

I have a bunch of Xoar 12 inch I'll probably never use, many of which have never even been out of the package. How many would you like?

    I got bit, badly...

I do think the no restart after disarm without power cycle would be a worthwhile feature as well, would prevent any post flight injuries caused by being careless with the TX or forgetting to unplug the pack. I think there may be more injuries after the fact than on startup outside of the ones...

    I got bit, badly...

DJI starts the motors spinning once you do the stick command to arm it, if you don't throttle up within 10 seconds they shutdown automatically, probably the safest setup I've seen so far. MK start the motors spinning at idle but first you have to initialize the gyros with a stick command and...

    I got bit, badly...

Not all that sure myself how it re-armed but I do know it was disarmed. One thing I always do after disarming is to pop the throttle stick up and back before I even approach the multi, did that with the FlipFPV and no reaction, also looked in to see the LED wasn't indicating armed anymore, it...

    I got bit, badly...

One other thing I'll be doing, changing the setup on all of my multis so that the motors are spinning while armed on all of them that don't already do it, that way there's no doubt as to what state the flight controller is in. Not that it would have made much difference in this case but in the...

    I got bit, badly...

One of those unforeseeable and ultimately stupid mistakes that could have been avoided, got me a quick trip to the E-R and 40 or so stitches in the side of my right wrist. Had just finished flying my Hoverthings FlipFPV frame with APM2.5 controller and disarmed the motors after landing. I was...

    Nice flying weather

This doesn't normally happen in New England in March... While not uncommon for it to snow this time of year, we rarely get 20 inches of snow in a 36 hour period as we did Thursday into late Friday afternoon. This was recorded around 1:30 PM on Friday using a GoPro Hero on the front of my...

    Hoverfly Cannot setup HoverFly Sport

The only thing you might want the setup client for is to verify the control movement, otherwise there's nothing to setup on the Sport other than the gain. As long as you can figure out if the sticks work right without seeing them in the setup client you're OK to just set the config and go fly...

something to bare in mind when doing pre flight checks

Those are the instances when having altitude hold and GPS position hold are worth the extra weight and cost. Flip the appropriate switch, catch your breath, and then figure out what the **** is going on. Worst case hit the RTH function and cross your fingers there isn't a major malfunction that...

    YUN-1, anybody else pre-ordered this?

Not built in per se, included as part of the gimbal is probably a better way to put it. It does use the Alexmos controller board and it comes as a complete unit with everything needed for it to work, how much assembly the end user will have to do remains to be seen. That said, I'll have one of...
