Changing props for high altitude flying

I was flying a y6 on 2814's and graupner 11's. The heli, at sea level, had gobs of power. But at 7000' it was barely able to land without crashing down. at 100% throttle it hit hard enough to bend the landing gear a little! I come back home and it flies normally again. I know graupners dont...

Chasing a MotoX rider with a wireless HD system.

Can I get her phone #? Nice work Ben. So you were flying FPV? Seems like you were LOS for most of it.

Changing props for high altitude flying

I have a job coming up where the altitude could be above 7000 feet. I usually fly 12" APC sf's on 2814's 4s. If I switch to 14"SF do you think this is enough to compensate for the 7000' difference? I flew graupner 11's on my y6 at 7000' a while back and the thing was 100% throttle coming down...

    LOS flight training

You have 720p footage in a 1080p comp, right? You need to make the comp 720 or resize all your footage to 150%.

    Really PC only?

I wouldnt buy anything microsoft. Get on piratebay and download a copy. After all you are only using it for a very limited time. I run mine in unregistered mode so it bothers me all the time to register. but I also use it twice a year for 10 minutes so who cares.

    Naza RTH Crash

I'm sorry but this whole RTH crash thing is unacceptable. Why does the compass have the authority to crash a heli like this? gyro=angle, accelerometer=rate, gps=position, barometer=altitude, compass=heading. If you take heading out of the equation why would the heli dive into the earth...

    Really PC only?

I use bootcamp, works perfectly. I'm using windows 7, which I think you have to if you have anything past snow leopard. It is annoying but it's not that often you really need to run it.

    Slow Rotation to the left...

All ESC's calibrated the same? I dont know the answer, just throwing out ideas. These things can be very frustrating sometimes.

    Slow Rotation to the left...

It's normally not necessary to move the gps but rather rotate it a little. But if you want to be real fussy about it, you can make sure it lays on an increment of a whole number since there are no decimals in the software.

Tried something different..... here are the results.

No I don't have that offset. The only thing I have a complaint about is it is very hard to maintain a certain altitude. I disabled the AH but still it's either going up or down at some rate. Very flat throttle curve already, so that's not it. But the yaw is pretty good. Occasionally there is a...

Its gotta be something other than the config itself. Mine never does any of that. Although you're making me want to try an octo now :) Just too damn big and you get props in view when you dip forward.

Hoverfly Firmware 4.3.860 - any problems I need to know about?

I would say exactly what jc just said. Disable AH, and it is hard to beat 4.3.860. I only use GPS if I fly far away and need a potential RTH save. but most of the time my flight is over by the time the gps has even initialized so I dont use it. But clearly it flies very well even with it...
