    Angel on the Christmas Tree

Sorry, but I couldn't resist. When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas pressure. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more. When he went...

New Multirotor - The Aries Blackbird X10

Checking out their press release I obtained the following, which does not mention an altitude but instead a range. Pretty similar to a Phantom. Agreed, range and altitude could be deemed the same thing, but that applies to just about every multirotor. Under line in the press release by me...

Construction of a wire harness (or loom)

The secret to soldering isn't that much of a secret. The right size tip, the correct heat range for the wire size, heating the wire, not the solder, and wire immobility. A set of "helping hands" can be very useful, as well as making a small capture jig to hold connectors stable for tinning and...

    Prop travel storage

Add a tight wrap of bubble wrap to all that and you're GTG. One could also purchase appropriately sized shipping tubes that could hold several props. That's been the standard for RC prop makers for years, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    FAA Approved MR manufacturers?

Seems the FAA has more or less provided their tacit approval of a couple specific brands based upon what was presented to them in the waiver requests. The wording I read in a couple of waivers implied they were only approving for flight use those that had been named and described in the...

Association of Commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems - ACUAS.org

The ACUAS is there to support people in favor of commercial use of multirotors. Nowhere does the membership form state one has to be actively engaged in commercial multirotor activities;). One could be a rank amateur but if they support the concept, sign up. No laws broken for that. Sent...

1st Time - DJI Drone Buyers Guide, BEST FOR 2015

I was hoping it gave a broad overview of products from numerous makers instead of a single product line. Perhaps changing the title to DJI Drone Buyers Guide would offer a little more enlightenment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CG on a Vulcan Mantis 900 Hexa

The more enlightened will do what it takes to balance correctly. The others will post at another site complaining of tilting at launch;). My view is add the weight, perhaps make it useful in the form of antennas, Vtx, or FPV battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Need an acronym

I was aware of the special COA's granted law enforcement but not aware some of you folks view lives, safety, and over regulation the same way we do. Logic wins out at times after all. Nice to see that we all believe that lives are more important that outdated regulations. Keep up the good...

CG on a Vulcan Mantis 900 Hexa

Looks good and the frame also permits later expansion for more lift capability. Well done. The take off a lot better when balanced. With the CG in the wrong place they can lean pretty hard in the opposite direction when lifting off. Could you move a battery to the gimbal rack to compensate?

Cannot get APM 2.6 to come to life

Check the transmitter end points at min throttle. May need to be at 1000. Oh, you said Futaba. Have you reversed the throttle channel yet? That's like a necessity for Futaba. If you change end points you'll have to calibrate the transmitter again.
