Just a poor slob needing help

Turn the wind up on the sim, find a local quad pilot, watch him fly his own machine first to make sure he really can and then let him have a go of yours.

Hi, I'm a professional photographer want a multicopter for aerial photography

Yes and if it uses the tether for power it could sit for a while. It's not a silly idea it could be a great risk mitigator. I have thought it might be ideal for some of the silly platforms both you and I have built in the past Mat.

Hi, I'm a professional photographer want a multicopter for aerial photography

Tethered commercial AP is permitted, commercial controlled flight in three axis is not by the FAA so I would hold onto the blimp for a bit and get some practice in.

Ah oh dear that's rather disappointing James, you have done most of the heavy lifting for the project so you will know the status of the code.

    Tau Labs CC3D release!

The main thing about OP is that release stuff after it has been properly tested, way way way more than anybody else. In fact I would almost put money on there being more, rather than less features. Good luck to them with the Kickstarter style funding will be watching with interest.

    H frames

Anybody have any pointers for some basic H frames, thinking about a hexacopter I have an itch to build something cheap and light. I have been looking to see if there are any homebrw eight inch prop frames that I can use the dims from but am having little luck This sort of thing.

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

I would like to see the footage from the guy opposite filming as well. Another great reason for securing the area and crowd control is to get rid of unwanted cameras.... The best thing to happen would be a community check list to come out of this. I feel sorry for the dude in some ways never...

    Multi-copter crashes into skyscraper video

I think they might find themselves in hot water for that one if the right policeman reports back. Especially now some of the footage is out. As somebody once said of a microlight pilot I knew, balls the size of melons and a brain the size of a pea.

New source for Multicopter industry news

That's a very thorny subject, I feel sorry for you chaps over there. RCAPA ought to be gaining lots of members wanting to help move things forward with the FAA although they have said that the military contractors have your interests at heart on the ARC 2.0 process and Ted from Aerovironment is...

    FAA where are we today

Have a look at this it carries lots of sort of worrying stuff There has been lots and lots and even more lots of talk of ADS-B beginning to seem like the FAA believes its the magic bullet.

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

Well Jes, my simple idea would be to create modules and get them approved. The CAA allows gliding, microlight types and balloonists to create their own exams hiring people from the disciplines to keep an eye on it so its not a foreign concept to them. Is it better, um not sure but there would be...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

I believe the CAA understand they are not experts and want industry to come up with usable options. So at the moment it's the current incumbent or nowt. If another group approached the CAA with a workable sensible plan they would struggle not to accept it. There is also Resource UAS they might...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

I have been super busy without seeming to get much done Ross! So should we re open the group to create modules and a training schedule and try and get some CAA love for it? This bit is important, it was never to be for profit, and as such would be a lot of work for obviously no reward, other...
