UK CAA awards Resource UAS Qualified Entity Status

No its not TM they are happy for anyone else to use the standard. Obviously you would have to become a qualified entity to do that but they don't view trade marking a qualification as a positive thing for the industry. Also sometimes you get what you pay for as well. The question to ask is will...

Tau Labs Florida Pilot Needed ***** Help Wanted****

Well people have gone off half cocked about 2015 Kilby, it was never going to be for private users just Police, Fire Rescue. The language of 2020 is here. http://theresearchcorridor.com/UASSummit2011/agenda and...

Tau Labs Florida Pilot Needed ***** Help Wanted****

The FAA are saying that folks here are not going to be able to fly commercially before 2020 at a minimum. 2015 was for RAPS, that is way late now as the six test sites have not been chosen. There are new fines on the table internationally for people that digress. If you have not found that out...

    Another one bites the dust...

Anybody know who it was yet? I can't find out and the X factor production company are mum. I have heard the CAA are in the process of pulling everybodys permissions for aircraft over 7kg and flight over congested areas. But again no one will confirm that. Somebody in here knows..... Beginning to...

    Another one bites the dust...

@DennyR its just how the newspaper stories normally tell the tale, @Droider I have been told about the changes from a service provider but told not to tell ;-) One thing is for certain the CAA has PPL(U) and CPL(U) in place holders in a CAP I can't remember the number of. At Farnborough 2010 the...

    Another one bites the dust...

I know one operator who offered to do the job with a wire cam as they thought it a little tricky. But anyway probably best to wait for the CAA report now.

    Another one bites the dust...

Just about every fast jet crash report starts with the line... " He bravely steered it away from (insert school, hospital, bambi )" Unless you were there you cannot know what happened. Because it happened in a country with regs and with no doubt the regulator there a proper investigation...

Quadcopter Star Trek Swarm over London

As a harbinger for the Paramount film “Star Trek – Into Darkness”, starting in May in Europe’s cinemas, last night a swarm of 30 mini-helicopters equipped with the LED lights drew the Star Trek logo into the skies over London. The choreography for the show was developed by Ars Electronica...

AR Drone The European Space Agency wants you and your AR.Drone

High on the very cool list this “We wanted to carry out robotic crowdsourcing, which meant selecting a robot that the public actually possesses in large numbers,” added Guido. “This is indeed a robot that people have at home and play games with, with the imaging capabilities we need.” “In...

New Legislation enacted in MO yesterday

Slight point of order, the FAA are saying 2020 for civilian commercial Ops, 2015 is for emergency service use always was but everyone took it as the go. That can't happen before the six test sites are approved and that is nearly seven months late. This makes 2015 and by extension 2020 tight.

Practical guidelines for self-regulation of sUAS ops

I will +1 on Andys post, CAP 722 all around. I actually think the FAA would be relieved if a group came to them and said that's how they operate.

Aeronavics / Droidworx DroidWorx Show Reels / Production Videos

Don't worry the CAA was all over privacy, unlike the FAA who are scared. There are enough established laws in place to cover it. Don't forget the BBC has several multi rotor and fixed wing platforms for its own use.

    Heavy lift 11kg!!

GPS is a funny old thing, I never fly a fixed wing mission without doing a little checking on just how visible the chain is. You are asking for trouble of you take off during a time when only 4 or 5 are properly above you in the sky. http://www.trimble.com/planningsoftware.shtml That's why...
