I've had that idea going around in my head for years. I've wondered about 4 throttle servos instead of 4 ESC's. Also toyed with the idea of building a hover craft, one gas engine, and 4 flaps, controlled by 4 servos, same idea. Will be neat to see where this project goes.

Apples to oranges, millions to billions. I just had a funny thought. Maybe DJI has bought out 3DR, hence the so called move to China, and once all the 3DR inventory is sold, that's it. Hummm, I'm really surprised that someone from 3DR has not jumped all over these forums, with some news.

I like 3DR, I own 3 Iris+ machines. But with this new Solo deal, they almost seem like a new start-up, rather than the old 3DR we used to know. Perhaps too much, too fast. Once again, 3DR is trying to play catch-up with DJI. while DJI smiles all the way to their communist controlled bank.

Hey Old Man, yup, mine is the opposite, with the 10/4.7's When I come out of loiter, she'll increase altitude pretty quickly. Whenever I get done testing, and settle on a particular prop, I think the difference between loiter and stab can be adjusted out, in Mission Planner.

I've not yet decided what causes that noise, but it's not all that un-normal. Some of my quads whistle, others don't. Some say it's the ESC's, some say it's the motors, some say it's the props. I believe it to be a sync problem, between the ESC's and the motors/props. Only thing I could suggest...

Same boat here. The paper work says something about these newer motors requiring a special ESC. I don't know if it just wants a higher amp rating, or if there is different timing, etc. etc. ????

Hummm, either you made a mistake typing, or there's even more different motors. I bought 4 DJI 2312/940kv motors (not 960), and got confused when the instructions said they require a different ESC ???? So mine are still sitting in their bags. I'm also interested in the differences. ???? I see...

Bert, yes, they fit, using one of the adapter rings that come with the props. I had a couple of acorn nuts lying around that were right hand thread, and popped 2 of the left handed nuts off of a couple of 3DR props that were nicked, ground off the 2 little tabs, and they work.
