    Octo Build for Aerial Video

So the Fentiums would probably be up to that spec then. Okay. Perhaps I would be better off with a MK3638 motor - it has about the same amount of thrust as the Quadro motor. Oh that one has low kv as well...

    Octo Build for Aerial Video

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I like the redundancy of the octo over the hex, the droidworx CS frames doesn't seem to be in the league in terms of carrying a payload. Yes I was planning on the Extended version to accommodate the Camera Gimbal. I trust the Maytech ESCs and I...

Improving the video performance of a PS1 mkTR Pro camera gimbal/mount...

This is great information and an excellent mod. Could you give exact details on the parts you used and the sources you obtained those from. A video tutorial of the mod would be useful. I have used moon gel and it takes out some vibration perhaps not all. Put it between the camera and the...

    Octo Build for Aerial Video

I just won the DJI flight controller and while my wife was still excited about the win, I have convinced her to let me do a new build. The theory goes something like this; we saved so much money so we need to spend more - you know all the stores try to get you with that same logic - spend money...

    DJI Contest giveaway!! WINNER!!!

I got a private message with a link to this video: YeeeHaaaaa! I think this is the first time in my life I have won anything! I was just thinking today how I was going to convince my wife that I really needed to buy a DJI-M Flight controller. However, now I have won one! That is great! I...

    Planning first quadrocopter, help!

I use the Hoverthings X8 frame - very sturdy and well made (the only problem is I have found it difficult to take apart when I need to repair a component - the screws strip easily).

DJI Contest voting is now OPEN!!

combatxe2, I think you missed the lesson from this competition. Look again, the results clearly show that it has little to do with video editing (sure to some extent that helped). However, what really counted was telling a story. Think about the movies you watch, if there is no plot it has...

DJI Contest voting is now OPEN!!

Thanks Bartman, I think your point was in the disclaimer on the first post. In my mind, stretching or bending the general idea was part and parcel of the description of the contest. If rules were too rigid then we wouldn't have seen all the creative ideas folks had. I thought it was a great...

    Planning first quadrocopter, help!

I second what Droider says - I started with Gaui 330X and ended up totally rebuilding it, would have been better off putting the money into quality components but as said, it probably is a good starter system. I found the Gaui electronics flaky - but can't speak to the 500X.

    Which esc and why?

I have the same setup with Avroto short shaft and using the Maytech 30A with 2 Turnigy 4S lips on a X8. ....so far I am happy with those, I haven't had them on long so the true test is how they perform over time. ...so far so good. I would rather spend a bit more and have a reliable ship...

Mark, Great action. You got the job done. ....I got my Gaui working again but my attempt is already done - Murphy's law.

    MultiRotorForums.com DJI Wookong Contest giveaway!!

Multirotorforums.com Wookong Giveaway Entry Okay, here is my entry/attempt. Let me start with the excuses: Handicap 1: I had planned to use my small quad (Gaui 344) for this because it is much more manoeuvrable but when I went to fly it for the video it started flipping over - bad ESC I...

    MultiRotorForums.com DJI Wookong Contest giveaway!!

I just got my bird back in the air - my flight times seem to be way down because the frame is heavier than expected. ...hmmm that might thwart my idea. Need to do some testing when the wind stops blowing - for southern Alberta that could be spring.

    Camera suggestions

Rsskycam, Do you use anything special to get the live view on the S95? I have just setup my S95 with CHDK and intend to use it for the same purpose.

DJI Flight Controller - pricey but impressive

Man, where do some of you guys get money to try the latest and greatest stuff? I have to count the shekels and pass it through the financial committee (wife) before I can even consider a purchase. All the red tape really slows down the buying processing and reduces my Visa bill.

    Camera suggestions

I have been thinking of either the Panasonic TH700/900 or the Canon Vixia G10 as video cameras, if a person just wants video this is probably the way to go. I suspect the quality of the video is on par with the t2i or even 7D but with less weight. I have a G10 or S90 for stills. On the issue...
