    Initial Gain Settings

I just wondered if folks could give me a good starting settings for the gains with the latest firmware. I have redone all the wiring on my octo and want to test it but am a bit gun shy because the last two attempts ended up with two broken arms. Once it was up in the air it was oscillating...

Parallel Setup - Warning Bullet Connectors

I don't like the look of those XT150 - the male ends are not far enough inside the plastic case so could easily make contact with the opposite polarity by accident.

    Octo Build for Aerial Video

Yes, those look like the same hardware - I wonder if that is the same firmware? I have been running 4s on my other octo (Hoverfly) for months with no problems - use deans for the power distribution with no problems. 7 Minutes of flight time with a 500g camera. Although this build will be a...

    Octo Build for Aerial Video

Hugy, How do you know those are just repurposed blue series - do you have any evidence? If you are going to make such a statement it would be useful to say why. Still struggling with this build - it caused two major crashes *two broken carbon arms) - never was stable in the air I have just...

Hoverfly HFP- Camera Settings Don't stick

Bartman, Thanks for the suggestions I will try that and report back.

A little competition for you all...

The points the others raise are all useful. To some extent the nature of the shoot depends on the purpose. In your case you want to show off the estate, so you want that to fill the frame as best you can. I would go for position 1 & 3 and try to get the lot on an angle. That would add...

    Xoar 3 blade wood props

On another forum, folks shared their experiences with 3 blade setups and found them useful as long as those were perfectly balanced, otherwise they didn't perform well. This was on smaller 450 size quads.

Parallel Setup - Warning Bullet Connectors

In a a scenario with two batteries in parallel or series, don't use Bullet connectors like this: Tell me how I know. On my HoverflyPro octo I have 4 ESCs powered by one battery and the other 4 ESCs powered by another battery (the theory is redundancy). I had two connectors using the stand...

14 Stiches later, I think something is wrong with my DJI 450 Naza...

Sorry I am coming late to this but I read your experience and wondered if you didn't accidentally brush the throttle as you were trying to disconnect the battery or get control of the out of control ship. I did that once (yes and cut some figures) and at first I thought it was the ship but then...

Hoverfly HFP- Camera Settings Don't stick

I am having trouble setting up my camera gimbal with my HFP. I get it all set level on the workbench and sometimes that works for a flight or so but then eventually on one of the next flights it will tilt on the roll axis so the horizon is no longer level. I have gone and reset horizontal...

    Power loss during flight

This sounds like an ESC programming problem if the motors are cutting out because of low battery, your ESCs are probably programmed for lipo rather than NiCAD, those should be set for NiCAD not lipo. That way those don't cut out when you hit low voltage.

    WKM with TX gain settings

I currently don't have a slider or dial (dx6i). I just have a switch but planned on opening up the travel adjustment for that switch and adjust it that way in real time while it is flying (that is what I do with my other multi rotors - Guai 344 and Hoverfly) - should do the same thing as a...

    WKM with TX gain settings

When you set the gain remotely to a switch on the TX, does that over-ride the gain setting in the setup software or is it added to that amount? My octo was a bit wobbly so I thought I would try remote gain. However after setting the remote gain, it got off the ground it is was oscillating so...

Galaxy 3X - Heavy Lift Octo

Stunning footage. The quality of the video is excellent. Did you do any post processing stabilization? I can get my footage that smooth with post processing but it loses that crisp feel. Your footage is very crisp.

My first DJI build- AD8 HL, DJI wookong

Fun Video. One suggestion - take the photohigher gimbal off the system before doing the maiden flight. Don't ask why I would suggest that - call it experience.

    New Remote Head (Red-Head V2)

It doesn't appear to have roll compensation - how does that work? Most gimbals have that.

WooKong-M Octo Flipping on Take Off

I took it up a couple of weeks of ago and it hovered for about 10 seconds then went out of control; pitching back and forth before coming down hard and breaking an arm, etc. Waiting for parts. Since I just checked everything again my latest thought is a bad RX. Will replace that, check every...

Hoverfly GPS Failsafe - Feature Request

Indeed the receiver failsafe will work well for bringing the airship staight down with my DX6i. It defaults to the throttle setting during the bind, so I will estimate a throttle setting for a gradual descent and set it according - it won't be pretty but I think it will satisfy the need. Thanks.
