NAZA height drop in fast forward flight.....

How many flights have you had with it so far? Did you cover the side of the controller with black tape as recommended by others in this forum? It resolves an issue with sunlight affecting the electronics which is identified as rapid altitude changes for no apparent reason. If you have done this...

    wkm will not RTH!

Fixing RTH DavidHippo, That should be easy to fix! Here is a clip from a previous posting where others had similar problems, either MR remains in hover or bucks violently on the RTH until just before landing. "Problem is solved..... thanks all for your input/help.... My MR is now functioning...

    wkm will not RTH!

Important..... Many of us have had similar issues related to RTH failure and/or bucking bronco effect when activating RTH. It is often associated with switching X2 values back and forth between the gimbal controller and the Basic and/or Attitude controller using X2 or X3. Best to clear out any...

NAZA height drop in fast forward flight.....

Did you adjust vertical gain way up toward maximum of 250 or 255? I found that helped me a lot with the same situation in Attitude and GPS......but not entirely... turns out my 6 motors on my RCT800 are not quite powerful enough for fast level flight with the extra MR weight.

    RC Timer S800 clone

My WKM in the RCT800 first test flights..... so far so good..... vertical gains set to maximum 250 due to motor thrust limitations..... but very responsive now. Removed the S800 landing gear to reduce weight by nearly 700 grams to get flights over 10 minute using 3 - 4S 4500 mah batteries in...

WKM S800 loses altitude when flying forward

Adjusted vertical gains and it now works perfectly!!!! Never a doubt in my mind re: the quality of DJI controllers.

    Mounting Batteries above centerplate

Seems that the original IMU concept was developed back in the late 60's for the Saturn V rocket gimbal system as a replacement to conventional rocket fins which created excessive drag. So if the IMU can keep the bottom of a long thin rocket balanced (as if balanced on the head of a pin) then it...

    The DJI rant thread

Seems like a good idea from my perspective. Perhaps the Assistant software should offer three interface modes: a) Beginner or Novice b) Intermediate c) Advanced (which would offer the pilot to adjust the roll and pitch angle limitations) The other two modes would make the more advanced options...

WKM S800 loses altitude when flying forward

This is how I understand the need for recent changes to IMU placement...... Many pilots doing Aerial video work with DJI and other MR products had to get a 2nd IMU dedicated and installed with the video camera/gimbal system to get professional quality results. DJI's approach has been to...

WKM S800 loses altitude when flying forward

Well.... if all else fails.... read the manual....... and it says.... "You use two methods to judge if the Vertical gain is good enough: 1) The multi-rotor can lock the altitude when the throttle stick is at center position; 2) The change of altitude is small during the flight along a route...

    The DJI rant thread

You bring up a good point. Setting aside some communication issues with the product documentation (which many fail to read and/or understand fully) DJI and the final customer remain highly dependant upon to dealer who must provide quality support and fairness to the buyer. When they buffer...

The future of multirotor as we know it

Some additional info received re: Posting #3 above for formal commercial MR training... ======================================================= The Light Drone PIlot's Course details will be announced later in June and I will write to you again. The course will be available in French first...

    5.22, upgrade or not?

I am happy with 5.18 for now and works with the original IMU. Pilots concerned about public safety should take advantage of these new height and distance restriction "SAFETY" features. In the event of a radio and RTH failure, the built in height and distance restrictions might prevent your...

Anyone using DJI Naza with Futaba R6208SB S-Bus Receiver - S-BUS Connection

Good info from ChrisViperM and ProPilotWannaBe... Here is a bit more on this topic....... Futaba makes the bulk of it's money from their industrial products line which includes wireless overhead crane control..... From that world they gained valuable insight into ProfiBus, FieldBus and CanBus...

    DJI S800 Orientation

Never exceed 13 volts for LEDs unless there is a strobing duty cycle. The PMU that comes with the WKM is likely using the CREE or other super LED and strobing for additional brightness or this one.... https://solarbotics.com/product/LED-RGB-Star43CD/ My 800 is not the DJI but here is what I...

Anyone using DJI Naza with Futaba R6208SB S-Bus Receiver - S-BUS Connection

PNP - stands for plug and pray!! Yes there are excellent manuals here: http://www.dji-innovations.com/products/naza-multi-rotor/downloads/ Start by completing the hardwire connections as per page 8 (DJI d.bus is equivalent to Futaba s.bus) don't look at ppm connections. You don't have to be a...

S800, total weight 7kg, should I still use maxamps?

5C is the charge rate..... they are likely 40C discharge rate as indicated in posting #11. You can run eCalc for Multicopters for a wide range of battery scenarios to gain perspective as to finding the sweet spot for optimum flight time with the intended payload....... with exponential...

S800, total weight 7kg, should I still use maxamps?

You can pull 2G or more during initial acceleration for climbing which means your MR weight doubles. It's much worse though when you try to recover from a fast decents as you can pull 3G or more in an attempt to recover from the fall...... Hence current draw increase exponentially in line with...

Anyone using DJI Naza with Futaba R6208SB S-Bus Receiver - S-BUS Connection

There are no issues re: Futaba s-bus and Naza or WooKong M. I have both + Futaba T8FG Super as well as another 8 channnel s-bus receiver by FrSky all works 100% all the time. BTW - The Futaba twisted 3 conductor servo cables are twisted so as to minimize rfi/emi noise interference....... just an...
