first build thread: lessons and learning to follow...

Excellent work Scott! Out of curiosity, are you planning to do any aerial video with this now? The only reason I ask is that I am unsure where you would mount a GoPro type camera on this setup with the battery box on the bottom such as it is. It is tough for me to judge scale in pictures but...

    Hello from Western Massachusetts

Hi J! Welcome to the forum! I am going the "inexpensive" route as well and have a KK2.1 on the way .... SLOW from overseas! Been piecing together my build over the past couple of weeks and I too have been following Scott's progress (he is my guinea pig.....don't tell him :highly_amused:)...

Scott! Awesome repurpose of the tool box! I am also pretty paranoid about the battery issue. My wife would kill me if I burned the house down! LOL

    Hello from Norway

Welcome!!! I am just starting out in this hobby and will be using the KK2.1 for my first board. An inexpensive setup so that I can learn the basics and construction of my quad. After that I hope to get into building an AP platform but that is well into the future! You joined a great site!!!

Well done on the swap to manual mode HighGain!!!! I think many folks could learn a few things from your vids! Watching the first one I was cringing thinking about it heading into traffic just before you managed to get it under control and back home. This is one of the MAIN reasons I am not...

    Futaba 14 SG + F450 NAZA V2 ...grrrrrrrr!

I too think everyone must RTFM however a single post of RTFM is a curt and snarky response. Good suggestions for Totuccio to check out YouTube and DJI website as well!

    Futaba 14 SG + F450 NAZA V2 ...grrrrrrrr!

I agree with you Totuccio...it was not a helpful response. Have you looked at the other areas of the forum? I think this is a good area but maybe ask in the futaba area in another forum? Hopefully someone can come and help!

is this setup good ?? first quad

+2 I'm with Moto as well on this one! I ordered a kk2.1 as well a week or so ago ( should have gotten a spare at that price) and seeing that this is a learning quad as well, I think it will be just fine! I might end up with a different frame ...still trying to decide. PS .... What...

It means "Read The Full Manual". Some folks insert another word for "full" I wish I could help but have no experience with your setup.

I spent a ton of time in Iceland and it is a beautiful country. With that being said this guy is a moron on several levels. The biggest is that he essentially tossed a bunch of garbage into a beautiful area. What a jerk. How about some testing before trashing the area? He is an example of...

Awesome job on the build so far Moto!!! It truly does look like a Japanese Pagoda!! What did you get for a power distro board? Could you have made a wire harness that you could zip to the arms/frame and eliminate the extra plate of the power distro board? I think that is what you are getting...
