    Any multiwii gurus among us?

Try this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1375728 Also keep in mind that since that was written, the D value in the code has changed from a negative to a positive. I haven't flown mine yet. It arrived two days after my last motor decided to have a smoke.

    Motor testing and rewinding info

Read that last link in my first post. I believe Alex uses paint thinner and/or heat. Maybe someone has a better idea though. If the insulation comes off the stator you will have to re-insulate it of course.

Mat, many people suggest the newbie wire. Is that what you used? How did you strip the insulation so cleanly?

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Turn your iron up to 700, put it in a glass upside down and sit the bearing on the tip for a couple minutes to loosen the glue. Now use the motor holder screws to evenly jack the plate off. The windings will be destroyed but they were bad anyway. I watched someone do that last month with that...

    Motor testing and rewinding info

I haven't done a complete one yet but I can tell it requires attention to detail and patience. If done properly, 'they' say that the motor will perform better. Looking at the two crap motors that I just unwound I would say that it's a good bet. I bought the wire from...

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Buzzed: Heat loosens the 30 weight ball bearing glue and you won't bend stuff using your 20 ton shop press. ;) Didn't I tell you before that it's all ball bearings nowadays? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4prqDn7QS8I&feature=related Bart: If the markings are too small to read try a high...

    Motor testing and rewinding info

I was flying my beater quad yesterday and it took off on me. The right rear motor just decided to speed up and it was all I could do to keep it in the yard. Then at about 8 feet it dropped into a bush and released the magic smoke. The windings on the ultra cheapo cf2822 motor burnt. Then I...

    Mikrokopter Crashed

You welcome and thanks. I just realized that when you asked if you should remove it you probably meant the baro not the board. You shouldn't have to unless it has failed for real. I just thought of a link to put on the distributors thread - chipquik.

    Roxxy 2827-35 motor bearings

Good Info! I just took apart 3 motors and the dirt sure gets in the smallest places. Any opinions on using sealed bearings? There's no way to oil them. But maybe they won't ever need oil because they are sealed?

    Mikrokopter Crashed

On a V2.1 board, the 3 pins closest to the gyro are the only ones connected. The others are just support legs. The component through holes should be filled with solder as a matter of practice. The solder should leave a fillet on both sides of the board. It's especially important on the hole...

    Mikrokopter Crashed

Flux both sides of the board and reflow the solder on the baro sensor legs again.

    Learning FPV

Since you have previous experience with multi copters, why not just build your own. Buy the MK FC board, Navi, MKGPS, MK3mag, and MKUSB. That will give you the brains to do waypoint flying etc. Then use an I2c convertor board so that you can use cheap off the shelf ESCs. The Ardupilot is...

    Need video goggle recommendation!!

Hmmm, They look pretty nice. Those may work as-is with the accessory lightshield. There's a 920 in the name. I wonder if they use the same optics as what I have.

Bart, Those are wonderful Goggles. Wanna buy a set in perfect condition for half price.;)

    Need video goggle recommendation!!

I can't say they are the best but I did recently buy a duplicate pair last month. - EVG920V http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260476733132&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT BTW, They were $239 last month. Seems the price has gone up. Hmmm. What kind of goggles do you currently have...

    X8 build

Ken, I hoping my Quadrino board will be shipped today. The MultiWii firmware is still in very active development though so I'm personally not expecting perfection at this point. I do expect it to be a fun 'basher board'. I have not used a compensated cam mount with my current MWC setup. I...

    Anyone fly today?

Ken, You have really motivated me to break more things. :) I was taking an easy flight tonight to tune the multiwii and I dumb thumbed the sticks while trying to land on a bush. It was an easy landing and I blame it on bad ju-ju from you. :p No real damage but a motor would just ratchet around...

    Understanding PID's

This old post on RCG is interesting: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11062770&postcount=3824 The gyro value is already an integral (degrees/second). Do the new flight boards switch around the P, I, and D in the code or do they still behave as in the post above?

    Crash's FPV build - some (dis)assembly required.

I ground tested the 1280Mhz antennas today. The quad was sitting 2 feet off the ground on a lawn mower. I was in a car with the helmet on. We got 1/2 mile away and I was picking up a poor but flyable signal. The signal went through some trees and a 6' wide box wood. The Futaba 2.4Ghz radio was...
