    Variable pitch quads

I just saw this MIT study done on variable pitch quads: YouTube http://youtu.be/VIkqqVr_u9U i love this!

    2nd Level voltage protection

Here's the video: http://youtu.be/hGZWIQRBVE8 i had to disassemble my Y6 to remove the landing gear. One of the antenna on my futaba receiver was sheared by a Graupner prop. I put all of my electronics on my DJI F450 frame to test for reliability after the crash. My WKM case was partially...

    3.7V or 80% for LiPos

I ran into the same problem, but my lipos were...old I guess. My volts would drop before hitting the 80% threshold. You should track the flight times of you batteries. They are also affected by temperature. Lipos lose flight time with age. It is a good idea to use a lipo checker. My...

Solid red light on WKM Main Controller

I recently crashed my Y6 after my craft went into stage 2 voltage protection. Im trying to test the flight system before putting it back in my Y6. What does a solid red light on the Main Controller mean?? i can't get my system to write, or calibrate the transmitter. I can start the...

    Unexpectedly short flight times

Old lipos, heavy weight, wrong setting. Check out this video: YouTube http://youtu.be/hGZWIQRBVE8

Newb to the hobby and need advice! :D

Think the #1 cause of multi-rotor crashes, outside of pilot error, are props that break in flight. Get reliable props.

    Unexpectedly short flight times

I converted a DJI F550 to a Y6. My flight times were 6.5 to 7 minutes using two 3S l6000 mah lipos in parallel. The batteries ran FPV video transmitter, motors, etc. Everything was powered off of the flight batteries. My craft was heavy.. Weighing in a just over seven pounds with my Sony...

    2nd Level voltage protection

Well... Just had my Y6 fall out of the sky when it hit DJI's 2nd voltage protection. My lipos were old and I've been tracking shorter and shorter flight times. Does anyone think that DJI's 2nd level voltage protection is a little too aggressive in reduction of power? I would rather have...

Did anyone watch the entire video?? Amazing features!

    DJI Naza M V2

There's so many versions of the Naza now. For what I use my WKM for I could have waited a year and purchased the Naza lite. Will DJI keep their versions of the Naza or will they all be replaced by Naza V2 M? If the price point for a Naza LITE with GPS is $230 I'll buy it in a heartbeat...

    Dji Naza Glitching

Loose connection, bad solders, bad receiver, strong radio interference. I saw a video where a craft was glitch ing when it was flown at increased range over top of a radio tower.

    Help with LiPo's!

Agreed. I watched videos on YouTube to find a charger that was easy to use and had the necessary features to charge lipos safely. I purchased the Dynamite Passport Ultra. It's simple to use and not intimidating for the newbie.

Have you lost a hexacopter in Norfolk UK?

yeah... Hopefully that craft didn't cause any property damage.

Radio in Acro rather than Heli mode?

When I started I looked all over the place for "acrobatic mode" on my Futaba transmitter. I found out that its simply airplane mode.

    S800 falling out the sky

I run my batteries in parallel. Is the only way that I'll get decent flight time with my heavy craft. Do or did you use one connection to connect both batteries? I run two separate power cables to a power distribution board. Sometimes the connection of the power cable of the battery is not...

MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) Poll

This poor chap couldn't establish a mean time because his craft crashed on its first flight. Youtube: http://youtu.be/neFXFZ4rHq0. unknown flight system. i certainly know this walk. It's the walk of disgust and lost hope. Disgusted that so much money and work went down the drain...

    Asctec

I'm impressed. Orientation is probably easier due to it V shape. I started building these crafts because it was so expensive to buy from the manufacturers. I like what I see though.

MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) Poll

I had to laugh when I read this thread. :) it seems like every multi-rotor that I've had crashed at one time or another. All of the crashes were due to prop failure. As far as crashes my craft due to flight system error = 0 (knock on wood). My WKM is extremely reliable and has performed...

    Oohhh Explain this one?!

Use Nylock nuts. Go to a hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot. You can find metric sized nuts with a nylon/plastic insert. They will keep the vibration and rotation of your props from loosening your nuts. They really work well!
