Did your dad just mess with the radio??? Your brother may be correct. If your dad mashed a bunch of buttons, he may have thrown off the trims. Does the ominous radio have beeps when you move the trims? If so, there should be a different tone that beeps when centered.

If it's anything like a typical setup, You may need to program the esc for "throttle" response, which in your case would be the pot. With no power, turn the pot all the way up. Plug in the battery. You'll hear beeps, then turn the pot all the way down, you'll hear more beeps. Disconnect power...
