    60/65% throttle hover more effecient

I've had good luck charging at 1C. The batteries show solid IR on all cells so far - done with a few years use. How long does it take to charge a 5A battery at that rate?

    60/65% throttle hover more effecient

1 amp, or 1C? I would think 1 amp would take forever. I think you're ok if the batteries have been well cared for. I would check the IR (if your charger has that ability) to make sure they are close between all cells.

    60/65% throttle hover more effecient

You can get battery voltage and even consumption measurements with the inexpensive Frsky telemetry, if you have the right Rx. Personally, I always feel that although you lose a bit on weight, having 2 batteries offers a type of redundancy that could possible save the MR in the event that 1...

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

They have absolutely everything - but they're pricey. I have already given them my first born for bags of trinkets :)

    well here we go

Nice. I think you'll appreciate the flexibility and some of the telemetry. The current sensor is my favorite - being able to track the consumption being used while in the air. Have fun and fly safe.

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

The new mounts are cheaper actually - at least here in the U.S. with the hammering you get when you order metric!

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

That's good. It really shouldn't be that hard - but they refuse to all use a standard. Gimbal motors are even worse! :)

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

Right. Stick with your aluminum plate stand.

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

Did you make sure to order the ones with the larger hole spacing?

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

I was thinking awhile back that you could have simply used the tarot style grommet mounts on the frame. Just wasn't sure how that would effect your center plates. The aluminum wouldn't hurt - but I'm not sure it's necessary except for easier spacing of the bolts on he centers plate.

    Logbook?

It's true it would be helpful to have that sync with an app. Accessing the various data sets and formats could prove an issue. Also, I know my superx logs certain data - but not everything required by the pilot log book, such as wind etc. but it still would be a nice start.

    Hi

Welcome aboard Stu. I think you'll find the crew here at MRF to be very friendly, knowledgable and willing to answer questions. Don't be afraid to search for clues first :). But everyone around here is here to help you through any issues you might encounter with your build. Have fun and fly...

    Newbie from Southern California

Welcome to MRF LCC! Do some cruising around the forum to see if you can find some build the ads that might help you hone in on a decision between quad/hex. I usually advise a quad to start (it's great you're already learning the ropes on a small practice quad). Makes for a cheaper, easier to...

    Hey there

Hey Richardson! Welcome aboard. Looks like you've found the right place to research, learn and hopefully build/buy a multirotor. Take a look around and enjoy the site. Lots of friendly and knowledgable folks around here. And don't worry about the language barrier, people from all over the...

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

I recall adding the mounts for the larger motors to the cart - so this might be the descepancy. A little shaving with the body reamer and I was good. See what P says, and then maybe cancel that order with Quadrocopter - these are MUCH cheaper :)

    R&D Hex for Survey/Imaging/Conservation

I forgot to measure that for you at the shop. Older a reminder to do so tomorrow. I think I ordered 12mm grommets from Amazon.

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

I'm sure they should clear since they mentioned KDE by name. I'm surprise you had such a hard time. I was able to shave just a hair off the center hole for mine - but I do t recall he measurement. Maybe they were larger center holes? I did buy the specific mounts for the larger motors from...

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

So these will sit on top of the boom itself - not off the end? If so, make sure there is clearance for the shift to protrude down and not hit the boom. Also, that would alter motor to motor length and possibly max prop size.

QuadFrame motor mounts and (KDE) 42mm motors

Are those going to have a bottom plate? The photo shows PEM nuts for securing another plate - but the listing just says 1 CF playe?

    Logbook?

I've been basing my info on the student pilot log book.
